  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

From a Tesla and Lightning Owner: Here’s What I Need to See from Scout

Right. There should be levels from beginner to advanced user settings (unlock the settings we need). In terms of idiot proof.. Lets say you buy a new EV coming from ICE or just moving to a new manufacturer. It's not safe anymore to assume that just because you turned it on and left it idle that...

From a Tesla and Lightning Owner: Here’s What I Need to See from Scout

I don’t understand why manufacturers constantly override buyer intent. I went through the exact same issue with my Lightning. It automatically shuts off after about 20 minutes, even though it doesn’t detect whether there are people or animals inside. I was able to disable it with a third-party...

From a Tesla and Lightning Owner: Here’s What I Need to See from Scout

I really am paying attention to the cab space compared to F150 Lightning

    Harvester Towing

I believe these EVs need stuff like this like a kill switch. We are essentially relying on code.

Design it to last 20 years

Last time I checked it costs less. Try looking up what it costs to replace an entire battery. Granted sometimes certain cells can be replaced.

    Generator + Solar integration

We need this on Scout for regular EV. It doesn't have to compete with the harvester model. It just shows thoughtfulness/utility in design

    Harvester Towing

right on. I think Scout is going to pull it off.

    Generator + Solar integration

That's why I post this stuff. Scout has the opportunity not be "that manufacturer".

    Generator + Solar integration

    1. I've done extensive range tests with Tesla and Ford EV's. "I also suggest changing the SOC meter (think fuel gauge) from miles to %. IMO they never should have allowed you to choose "miles remaining" and instead display "% remaining." This doesn't work out well for trips. You either can...

Powertrain, drivetrain. Call it what you want. I am not entirely sure that the Harvester model won't be supplying power directly to axle similar to powerboost. Until they show us a diagram or straight-up confirm it, I’m keeping an open mind.

    Harvester Towing

per Grok (not sure if it's correct) but I think it might perform the same as the Ford Powerboost. The Harvester version (the EREV / range-extender model) does not use the exact same drivetrain as the standard fully-electric Scout Terra. Here's the key difference: The standard EV Terra uses...

    Harvester Towing

This is why I am pushing for the ability to add our own generators in the bed. Interesting fact I learned today for what Everdrive is doing on the Lightning.
