  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    Full time dash 360 cam

I’ve been thinking about this lately. Tesla includes a USB port in the glovebox, and you can plug in an SSD—many owners use it for always-on Dashcam and Sentry Mode. If the Scout had a similar setup, it could unlock a seamless 360° surveillance feature.

Scout knows who they're competing with. I'd imagine they'll have a performance version.

From a Tesla and Lightning Owner: Here’s What I Need to See from Scout

https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1D44CzFcct/ I've raised this issue with Tesla multiple times and never received a clear answer. And to be clear—I'm not talking about the manual emergency door releases. I'm talking about the glass. This isn't just a Tesla problem. It’s not even just an EV...

I get where you're coming from, but many of us transitioning from Teslas and Lightnings are looking for a vehicle that can deliver both performance and utility. There's no harm in letting Scout offer a range—slower aka maybe larger battery models for those who prefer that, and sportier versions...

Yes, 30-40% from the advertised range. Agree, Tesla is the worst offender. I am pushing for Scout to be successful. That's why I'm here ;p

From a Tesla and Lightning Owner: Here’s What I Need to See from Scout

When manufacturers claim 300 to 350 miles of range, what they’re really saying—without saying—is that after a 30-40% efficiency drop, that’s your actual usable range. And once you step outside a well-established charging network, which is exactly the point of owning a capable vehicle, you’re...

From a Tesla and Lightning Owner: Here’s What I Need to See from Scout

I understand this firsthand owning two. I've traveled long distances without the superchargers. Scout isn’t positioning this vehicle as something you’re meant to charge at home constantly. At least, that’s not how it’s being marketed from what I’ve seen. And by your own admission, if someone’s...

From a Tesla and Lightning Owner: Here’s What I Need to See from Scout

The real issue isn’t what I’m willing to pay—it’s the lack of infrastructure and build, just like Tesla. Unless that’s solved, premiums are going to be the same. Which, by the way, on average is 30+ percent higher than a normal ice vehicle in terms of repairs, which drives insurance rates. (And...

From a Tesla and Lightning Owner: Here’s What I Need to See from Scout

I disagree on the value argument. Launching the first self-charging 'eclectric vehicle' is a win, a marketing coup, and a statement of innovation. Efficiency aside, that kind of feature should be standard. It’s a no-brainer.

    Android Auto & CarPlay.

I wonder if it's possible to incorporate AA and AC into a system that's already well-established, so that all three groups of people can be happy—and maybe some will be pleasantly surprised.

From a Tesla and Lightning Owner: Here’s What I Need to See from Scout

I really want to see this on Scout. With "Joe Mode" on, all the alerts are toned down. The chime cues you when the light turns green or traffic starts moving. Very nice for taller drivers who have to lean forward just to see through the windshield.
