  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

How Are Electric Vehicles Taxed in Your State?

In Utah I am part of an EV road usage pilot program. I submit a photo of my odometer every so often and I get charged based on miles driven but there is a max limit for those that drive a lot. For those that drive very little it can save them money.

    Emotional connection without engine sound?

It will definitely depend on the person. I was a mechanic for many years, a lifelong automotive fan, and have been driving EVs since 2019. Sometimes I do miss the sound and many other times I'm glad it's gone. I have found I still connect with the machine. My GV60 Performance is in the shop...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

Some models do and some don't. I'm renting a Polestar 2 right now and owned a Bolt EUV and they both just pop open when you push on them. My GV60 is motorized, so is Tesla, and Rivian is (in)famously over-engineered. The models aimed at the luxury market tend toward motorized charging port covers.

what's this in bed of Terra

I started looking into MOLLE plates when I was outfitting my ebike for commuting to work. Such a cool system. Excited to see how it's deployed by Scout. I have this (not so great) photo from the reveal that shows a few examples of what they might be used for.

    240V Outlet on Traveller

I'd also love to see the 240 V outlet on the Traveler. Plenty of ways to use it with an SUV as well.

    Camping / Overland Ideas

Definitely limited at that time. And the discovery of large oil deposits in Texas made oil a whole lot cheaper.

Should Scout adopt the NACS (Tesla) charging system

Here’s a look at the NACS port on the Traveler. Of course, this can change before production but I just love the integrated 120-volt outlets. Brilliant.

Why do you like to go off-road?

    So well said. Love it!

What kind of tech do you expect enabled in the car or interface?

That would be cool. I have heard that aftermarket bumpers will be possible so you may be able to install one that can accept a 2” hitch.
