  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

4 things that stood out to me Two good two bad Good: - The battery chemistry for Harvester model is older cheaper Chem (hopefully keeps cost down) - Steady state is 70 MPH, so should be capable of highway driving even if gasing up when the battery is depleted) Bad: - Harvester model is a whole...

    Re-think Headlight Design

I had to take a double take on the date of your post. I've been MIA in here for quite a while. Ha guess I have a lot of catching up to do.

    Re-think Headlight Design

I feel the same about the postage stamp fringe. Not a huge fan, but something I'd like to see in person.

    Battery Life Cycle

Exactly this statement here. I mean I want a solid state battery, the longevity, the safety improvements behind it. A $5K maybe even a $10K bump if there's enough standard features. But I'm not looking to pay Wagoneer prices. I'll then go back to the Gladiator as my main option.

What kind of tech do you expect enabled in the car or interface?

All valid points and thoughts. Personally I'd give it as much trust as adaptive cruise control today. I see it as an extra level of safety, for long road trips. But I think choice is key. You wanna run with what the manufacturer provided, go for it. It may be better or it may not be compared...

What kind of tech do you expect enabled in the car or interface?

I didn't want to open a whole new thread for this. So this topic made the most sense. I am a huge proponent of open source and think just about everything is better in the open. I sae this post and it really peaked my interest. And was thinking, what a cool concept to pick your autonomous...

Are factory deliveries for reservation holders being considered?

I am seriously considering this if it becomes an option. Fly in and drive 2k+ miles back home. Sounds like a great road trip.

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

Just curious, what is the use case you're thinking? I'd like to know what WiFi tech is being used for the network. WiFi 6/6E/7? And how much configuration you can do. Eg radio power output, band size, turn off certain frequencies, etc.

Range extender - please adjust spec to 250 miles of EV Range

I don't think a home charger is 100% required but would need some kind of reliable charging plan. For me the cost of installing a L2 charger in my garage is going to be a decent size of my decision making. Because the closest NACS high speed charger is 40 minutes away from me. Also I feel like...

Dash Rail with USB C ports

Apple finally switched switched to USB-C, it'll be around for another decade or two.

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

Well I'd argue for this starting price I want the ammenities ha. But I see your point. Reason I'm replying, is I don't know if you saw from the original announcement SM stated that 80% of the vehicle is owner servicable. Someone like be probably means 10% servicable but in my ears I'm hearing...

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

Just following up on this post, came across this article today: https://www.thefastmode.com/technology-solutions/38950-red-hat-achieves-functional-safety-certification-for-in-vehicle-operating-system Looks like Linux running your car is further off than I thought, but looks like Red Hat is...

Range extender - please adjust spec to 250 miles of EV Range

I need to calculate and factor in the cost of installing a L2 outlet in the garage. That has to be considered too, for me at least.
