  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

What Colors Do You Think Scout Will Offer at Launch?

There’s 5 colors that are basically a guarantee. Black, White, Gray, Blue, and Red. Anything after that is a bonus, but a version of those 5 I would imagine would definitely be on offer. Honestly, they’d be foolish not to offer them. I hope for, Green (my personal choice), Yellow, and Orange...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

Closest EV wagon I can think of off the top of my head would be the Subaru Trailseeker. I agree with Logan, it seems like we're just labeling everything as a CUV/SUV even though some are much closer to wagon/hatchback than they are to the former.

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

I toyed with the idea of the Slate as a work truck, but with 1400lb. payload and only a paltry 1000lb towing that just wouldn't do at all. Otherwise it'd be a great work truck. Panels that are easily replaceable, little to nothing to worry about in the cab. I'm sure it'd make a great truck for...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

IF, and that's a big IF Ford can really get this next-gen small truck on the market at about $30k, then yes $25k for the Slate is too much. Just figuring that the Ford would have 4 seats, screens, speakers, etc. The Slate is a great idea, I really like it overall, but it might be DOA. This is...

    R2 Launch Watch

Well, I'm sure there is more to it than a minute or two, haha. I just think the majority of the building process will be very similar, after the initial drivetrain install.

    R2 Launch Watch

I think the way y'all described it will likely be the case. The major differences between the two are under the skin, and one body panel. I suppose the software that's installed too, but that might be on a pre-loaded module that's then dropped in. If that's the case, then the major difference...

What's it like to take a road trip in a truck like the Terra (F-150 Lightning)?

I'd go for the first or second personally. First being my preference as far as heat reflection and it's ability to hide a bit of dirt.

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

Definitely optional in my opinion. I’ve never seen ones that last long.

Scout Motors Milestone - First Welded Traveler Body at Production Center

How exciting! I’ll bet it’s super exciting for the folks that will be working these departments, too!

    FB find of the day

Never ceases to amaze how much lighting alone can alter how something looks.

Is there anything SM could offer to get you to switch from EREV to BEV?

My family goes to NE and SD from southern TX every year to visit relatives. The leg from NE to SD was my biggest concern because there are portions where… yea, there’s prairie for 60 miles either way and next to no cell service. That said, along the two routes we normally take I checked it out...

We own EVs. Ask Us Anything.

This has probably already been answered in the thread, but.. Those with EVs. How often do you plug in at home? Practically if most people are only traveling under 50 miles a day, I can see where after a while you'd likely not plug in every day. Maybe every other or every third if you're on a...

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

I have a 2015 F150 with a bench front. It’s just 3 separate seats slammed together. Center doesn’t move except to move the seat back up/down. Storage under the seat part, storage inside the seat back. Both driver/passenger seats have power slide and recline. I just imagine this is essentially...
