  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

Absolutely, but the gas/hybrid market is still a larger market.

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

Ohh for sure, wasn’t trying to cast any shade at all. It was interesting enough for me to watch the entire thing, just more or less making sure I hadn’t missed anything. One thing was the last guy the interviewed seemed to think the EREV setup could be less expensive. I think TFL had mentioned...

Weird to think Nissan has been doing it in Japan since 2016 apparently. i mean, it still functions like one minus that one step I guess. I’d say it qualifies.

Honestly, not really sure. I definitely thought that was the most interesting choice. It can’t be as efficient on the electric front, but I would guess tha it’s probably still going to be a 45-55 mpg small SUV, which itself is pretty significant.

Nissan introducing an EREV for the Rogue. Interesting to note a test engineer says no plug, so only source of power is gas...

I don’t know if there was any “new” information there though, but agree it was a good watch. Actually, only thing that seemed new to me was talking about how the side markers would have plastic moulding formed to fit the lights into.

    Key Fob question

Personally would be a-ok with a physical key, lol. I currently use one. Wife's car has push-button with the ability to unlock by touching the handle, just not something I see as that huge of a benefit for me to really care either way. If it has a push-button, great, no, great, a key, great...

    FB find of the day

I worry though that with Amber/Warm glow being the new "thing" lately, that not too long it'll feel overdone and people will wish they could change it. Maybe not, but remember the bright white/blue LEDs were once the "thing" and now a lot of people hate them.

Is there anything SM could offer to get you to switch from EREV to BEV?

Cab to bumper is 6' according to Scout's site, but that's not discounting the roughly 6" we lose to the bumper and tailgate depth. So, my understanding is the Terra would have a 5.5' bed like every other crew cab offering. If I could I also would get a 6'+ bed on it, but that option is just...

Is there anything SM could offer to get you to switch from EREV to BEV?

I mean, I use a crew cab 6.5' bed F-150 every day for work, and plan to use the Terra for work as well. Their overall size certainly isn't a deterrent to the work they can do in hauling/towing. I don't know what "actual" work looks like to someone else, but to me it's what I do every day as a...

Actual delay official and order of deliveries confirmed?

Gas prices have always seemed to only temporarily affect car-buying for the most part. I remember after 9/11 everyone started off-loading their big SUVs, but they're still here. They still sell well, and that's with prices being higher than they were. I think it's short-sighted to only focus on...

Is the EREV going to be a flop?

I don’t know the answer for the other person, but I can tell you why I choose to drive to Nebraska and the Black Hills of SD every year from Texas instead of fly. The reason being, it’s significantly cheaper. I’m not buying 4 expensive plane tickets, then having to rent a car for a week. Might...

Little Rivian R3 competitor. That actually looks really cool with their styling details.

    FB find of the day

Every time I see this dash I just think how much I love the overall design. I'm so over the gigantic center stacks, and overwrought dashboards. Clean, simple, yet still great-looking dashboard. Before Scout showed off the concepts I 100% had been dreaming how a modern take on a 70's truck could...

Is there anything SM could offer to get you to switch from EREV to BEV?

Granted, 100 degrees with 90% humidity is now my Stockholm lol
