  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

Cost and Ease to Repair/Maintain the Traveler and Terra

I'd also like to confirm if Harvester equipped cars will fall under California's TZEV warranty which is 10yr/150k at least for the Harvester related items including the engine itself. The i3 REX falls under this category btw.

    Built-in hydraulic or electric jacks

I wouldn't want the cost and weight of a built in jacking system. Speaking of jacking up a car I'm curious what style Scout will choose. As a reminder Volkswagen has historically used some kind of pinch weld area like this.. While Rivian has some kind of peg sticks into the car and is what you...

Switching Harvester to All EV Model?

If I switch back to EV, and I really might, it'll be for those reasons. Scott says Harvester makes Scout a 50 state vehicle. What that really means is besides specific use cases like towing it's really there for states with slower EV adoption rates by wiping typical objections (range anxiety...

Do You Think That EV SUV's and Trucks Have Evolved?

I don't think that company is a fair representative of the greater evolution of the EV market. That's a niche player with a specific purpose of building some kind of Defender-like box on wheels...either that or their version of Top Gear's electric car lol. As far as EV SUVs/Truck evolution you...

Switching Harvester to All EV Model?

In California and originally reserved EV but switched to Harvester. Reason being ability to tow and ski trips because the Sierras aren't full of chargers. That said in ~3 years time the charge infrastructure might have improved, Harvester is such an expensive option I determine it's not worth...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

"In the letter, NADA’s CEO, Mike Stanton, expressed that the decision by Blume and the Board of Management to distribute Scout vehicles directly in the U.S. was “misguided” and “violates well-established state franchise laws.” He also pointed out that Scout would have instant market traction if...

Harvester generator gas and not diesel

You answered your own question when you said "ties to VW." :D

    Sunglass holder

I support this. The center console area does show a lot of room for glasses held in their respective cases, however perhaps there's an accessories play here for a rubberized/no-slip sunglasses case that could live there.

The VW ID. Every1 Will Be One Of VW’s First Model To Implement Rivian’s Software In Europe.

Using forum just so I can see these pics side by side... ...ok so you can see some similarities but VW definitely has it's own feel. Of course more importantly will be the logic of navigating these screens and the responsiveness of the software, which I'm sure will be excellent on both fronts.

    Battery Life Cycle

Honestly it's something I wasn't aware of until I started looking into these cars and yeah, it's a great story. Not only are you saving people tons of money, you're keeping these cars on the road for a very long time. It's no wonder Toyota Hybrids regularly surpass 300K or more.

    Battery Life Cycle

Here in the SF Bay Area there's a very good cottage industry focused around reconditioning Hybrid batteries. I bought my FIL an '07 Camry Hybrid and it has one of these units. Works great and was like $750. They take the old unit away and use the good cells to build up a new pack for someone...

Scout concepts on Jay Leno’s Garage

Hadn't thought of this but wow, excellent points.

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

Seems reasonable that a large factory site would disturb natural habitats. It's also reasonable that some land gets set aside for preservation and is exactly what Volkswagen did in Chattanooga. They converted roughly 90 acres to wetlands, built a massive solar farm, and separately donated 1500...

    Scout Color Poll #1

It's one of my favorite greens out there and is what I'd choose. I believe all Scout competitors offer a green however nobody offers a green like this. Rivian's Forest is too dark, Launch is earthy/muted. Bronco's Eruption is very rich with lots of gold. 4Runner Everest is another dark one but...
