  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

    Dog Friendly Features

I imagine it will probably do this anyway, but just to make sure, assuming that there is a state of charge limit to actually use the pet mode feature, e.g. 20% or more charge, make sure that once it is turned on, even if the charge goes below 20% (all the way down to 0%) it stays on, just in...

    Factory window tint

Depends on if it is a tint that has a high UV and heat rejection, I wouldn’t want just a basic tint that doesn’t do any of those things. Sometimes factory tints aren’t as good as aftermarket.

Scout Traveler and Terra Photo Collections and Wallpapers

I really like both of them, although maybe by the time it comes out I’ll be bored of those two colors and want something different!

Poll- What have you Reserved... Let's get a small idea of the take rates.

If you do by something like a Tesla to tide you over, I would just lease it so at least you don't have to worry about depreciation and can hopefully time it to expire as the Scout becomes available.

    Spare tire discussion

I've not seen any as standard. I found this picture of an aftermarket one. Not sure how I feel about it.

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

I imagine the vast majority of people who have EVs or have tried them will want to stick to them going forward. I'm also fairly certain if we'd had EVs for the last 100 years and gas cars were the new technology coming out today that the same people who are anti EV today would be anti gas in...

    Bed Area

Something like that would be nice. I will have my dogs in my truck, and their hair gets everywhere on carpets, so the easier to get that out the better. Not to mention if I'm getting in after being at the beach in sand or mud from a trail etc.

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

It definitely sounds interesting. There will certainly be time before Scout is released to include it if they want. I'm also on the fence if I would want this anyways. If your car has this Apple CarPlay Ultra, can you still choose to just run it as normal CarPlay alongside the cars normal UI? If...

    Combustion Engine

Not in general, but I assume if the gas keeps the state of charge at say 50%, if you kept going after the gas ran out and didn't fill up, then it would go back to using electric only until that runs out as well. Hopefully people wouldn't be doing that, but if there was a scenario where you cut...

    Combustion Engine

This is how I see it as well. If you arrive at a gas station on empty and the battery is down to 1%, you may have to wait a little while for the generator to charge it up a bit or you won't be going very far. I imagine if you fill up before the gas runs out, and therefore have the battery at a...

    Paddle Shifters For Adjusting Regen

If they do go with paddles, hopefully there's a way to make it an option, I wouldn't want them or use them and would find it annoying having them on the wheel area when I'd never use them.

Trying to understand size, especially interior.

I'm looking forward to interior dimensions as well. I'm hoping it is more legroom than a mid-size truck especially in the rear.

    Dog Friendly Features

We have a Giant version over here

    solid state battery option

If solid state batteries are ready for production vehicles by the time Scout is released, the other thing is how reliable will the initial ones be? I wouldn't want Scout as a new car company to be the early adopter because if it turns out they had issues and battery pack failures then it could...

One feature that made you pull the the trigger on a reservation….

I currently drive a Tesla Model 3 and am looking to upgrade to an EV truck in the next few years. I don’t think the Rivian R1T is big enough for what I need and I really liked the look of the Scout. I’m not a big fan of the legacy automakers software, and as much as it’s interesting to see...
