  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

What do you all do? Curious about Scout buyers occupations, or former occupations.

Lots of ModbusTCP and SCADA integration. I'm a little younger by the sounds of it, so I did a lot with Telemechanique and Schneider. I'm now with a major DCS vendor.

My job is nebulous, but if I were to distill it down I design and install the computer infrastructure that runs industrial facilities.

Is there anything SM could offer to get you to switch from EREV to BEV?

I mean, if I was keeping with the theme of the thread, knowing that Scout would support a battery retrofit to sodium or SSB in 10 years would be a "take my money" moment.

Is there anything SM could offer to get you to switch from EREV to BEV?

Don't discount the rental option. For what one can save in maintenance costs, could easily pay for multiple truck rentals a year if infrequent towing is needed.

Is there anything SM could offer to get you to switch from EREV to BEV?

For what it's worth, I just switched my reso from Harvester to BEV. After doing a candid review of my usage, 90% of my mileage is a 50 km round trip into Edmonton, 9% is a drive out to where my farm and parents are with some short distance single axle trailer towing for moving my bees, and 1% is...

New Scout Video: Forging the Future - The Sound Of Scout

One of the coolest pieces I've seen in a long time. Noticing the blues swing of the old analog turn signal to talking about the circle of fifths. If this vehicle carries half the passion of the Scout team it's going to be a banger.

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

Donut Labs is presenting 3rd party testing results of their SSBs. The staggered release on a timer is kind of annoying but I get the PR play. https://idonutbelieve.com/

    Northern Climate FAQ

@SpaceEVDriver What really stands out to me, now that I've had the time to digest your data, is that the Harvester doesn't add nearly the cold-weather value I thought it would. Of course there's a lot of assumptions happening and we'll need to see closer to release, confirming EPA ranges and...

    Northern Climate FAQ

If there's 300 miles of BEV range at -30 Scout can take my money yesterday. I'm still holding out hope that there will be a battery retrofit option in the future, at least on the BEV. Old pack can get recycled into something else.

    Northern Climate FAQ

You bet. I'll split it into general estimates and Scout published data so there's no confusion.

Amazing, @SpaceEVDriver mind if I copy paste your data up into the placeholder posts?

    Northern Climate FAQ

I'm pragmatic and understand it won't necessarily make sense to engineer the vehicles for a fringe condition in a smaller market. Our summers are amazing here, and due to northern latitude with our 18 hours of daylight my solar system pumps out power like crazy. The shoulder seasons are fine...
