  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

Terra questions about tires and payload

If you have questions about the EV ownership experience, you could take some time to read the "We own EVs. Ask Us Anything" thread. There is lots of useful info that will help you if you are concerned about buying an EV.

DC Input for Portable Solar Panels

According to the EcoFlow website, the EcoFlow Delta Pro 3 has a battery capacity of 4096Wh - so just over 4KWh. A single 400W solar panel will charge it from 0 to 100% in about 37 hours of sunlight. That works out to about 0.1KW per hour. The rigid 400W solar panel is 67.8×44.6×1.38 inches and...

Switching Harvester to All EV Model?

Neither of those would be my motivation to change from the Harvester to the BEV. What would motivate me to change to a BEV is if Walmart actually delivers on their plan to install DC fast charging in their locations with pull through stalls for people with trailers. It is only a few times a...

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

Okay, now I'm pissed. I am getting the Terra, so there is no place to install my flux capacitor without blocking the rear window.

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

Walmart's Plan To Blanket The US With The Walmart EV Charging Network Video on State of Charge channel: The video says the rollout is planned to be complete by the end of the decade. If they can manage to do that, I think this will help a lot to answer people's concerns about range anxiety.

    Trailer Options?

<rant>Why can't blog posts or article like these include publication dates? It is so annoying to see something like this an not be able to tell, until you start following the links to products, that the article was written X years ago. And now all the products suggested are either no longer...

Solar-Ready package (especially for the Traveler)

There is no port (electrical plug or cable hatch) that you could use while driving. The wiring from the solar panels wouldn't be able to take the strain. If you want to be able to use solar panels while driving, the solar installation would have to be semi-permanent. The wiring would have to be...

Solar-Ready package (especially for the Traveler)

Instead of a plug, how about a built in weather tight cable hatch? A cable hatch is a small door that RVs use to allow power cords (and other stuff) to run between the inside and outside of the vehicle when it is parked. With a cable hatch you are not bound to a specific outlet type. So you can...

    Delivery date

The more important question is when will when will they deliver my Scout? ;) Since the reservation numbers are not sequential, I don't even know where I am in the queue. I know there are a bunch of people that got their reservations in before me, but no idea beyond that. So while I would be...

Hoping for a simple option - will pay extra!

I think it would be better (or more realistic?) to ask for personal customization for this stuff. This is, have all the computer features you mention be settings you can configure. Your setting would be saved in a profile you select when you start the truck. That way, all the stuff you don't...

We own EVs. Ask Us Anything.

First thing - if you "reach the gas station AND you have depleted your battery to below X% SOC", thank Scout for making a great EREV. Without it, you would be sitting on the side of the road waiting for someone to bring gas to you rather than sitting at a gas pump putting gas into your vehicle...

We own EVs. Ask Us Anything.

With a Harvester, for long trips you will only need to get gas regardless of how long your trip is. The videos of the Scout's interface included the electric drive modes. They did not go into detail about the specifics of each different mode, but the brief descriptions explained enough that we...

What will be your Scout's Vanity Plate?

Hurrah, someone got it! I forgot to post that "Of course, since I am getting the Terra, it has to be..." and for some reason the edit feature wouldn't let me add text after the fact.

We own EVs. Ask Us Anything.

I have an Ioniq 5 and have charged at home (Level 1 charger) in heavy rain and snow. I have also changed on the road (Level 3 or DC fast charging) in the rain. There was never an problems charging in wet conditions. The charging was not effected by the cold once the battery was warmed up - the...
