  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

Scout concepts on Jay Leno’s Garage

Cool handel name as I am a badams as well. Ya I get it but just worry that it will be hard to please most folks that need to have a Harvester. My post is meant for the 5,500- 9,500 pounds trailer crowd that a Harvester model may not work for.

I encourage all the first time considering an EV or EV haters that post "Harvester will have to tow my trailer or be gas and go " etc to download Plug Share. Check out were chargers are near you. Realize you can charge at level 2 at any rv campground. Then ask any friends you know who drive EVs...

Don't want to ver off topic but the politicalization (if that's a word) of EVs just baffles me. They are for the most part American made through and through. It's a coolaid thing and I will leave it there.

I believe most folks interpreted from the Leno video that the 5k towing capacity is for both Traveller and Terra. My guess is SM will be over 400 by launch.

My guess is he has a truck. As he mentioned he wants a Truck and had a boat and a tracker he tows. Most 1/2 ton trucks do have a 10k pound towing capacity.

Good point but if it was tongue weight only you would think he would have added 500 lb tongue weight capacity to the 5,000 pound towing capacity statment but maybe Scott's not a big RV Trailer towing kind of guy.

Scout concepts on Jay Leno’s Garage

I know spec's are fluid and we should all wait until things are figured out but if the Terra Harvester does end up with a towing capacity of 5k it would be the lowest towing capacity of any half ton size truck in the US market. I wonder how many of the 50,000 + folks who have reserved a...

Liklely both tongue weight and the generator charging fast enough to power ev engines with 18,000 pounds of combined vehicle and trailer weight. The bigger battery of EV still effects payload capacity even though it's further forward

Like Scott says. Let's wait and see. For me personally 200 miles with trailer is good for me I think SM will get there with Terra Total EV. I would hold tight and see were Chevy and Scout are in late 2027 then decide.

Jack is your hatred of EV some sort of political thing. You seem overly up set. EVs are not your enemy bro.

Scout Warns VW Dealers Fighting Direct Sales That It’s Not Playing Around

Don't want to cut off the hand that helps feed SM but have any of you guys dealt with a VW dealership? Cheesiest of them all. I hope and pray SM never has to sell at VW dealerships.

I understand folks who really want the Harvester option and I am all for it if it helps SM sell more vehicles. After listening to this Jay Leno piece I worry that the Harvester is thier main focus not providing the best total EV vehicle that they can. I.e getting 400+ range with 10,000 pound...
