  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

Shopping for a “new” BEV while waiting for the Scout Traveler BEV.

Oh yes, that must have been at Moffett Field, I used to live near that hangar 20 years ago. Went there once during an airshow. To say it was cavernous would be like saying Ton 618 is a large black hole 😆

Ooh, thanks for the heads up! I live about 25 miles from Pasadena and have the ticket date in my calendar now. Can’t wait!

(Planned) Route 66 Centennial Road Trip (Ended up being Great Lakes/Niagara Falls Trip)

Just found this thread but am commenting to get updates and see how this trip goes. My wife and I decided it would be fun*, since we live a mere 40 miles north of the western terminus of this world famous route, to do a partial Route 66 drive from Santa Monica to Arizona. I had no idea til...

If you already don’t fit in the frunk, how on earth are you supposed to fit in with a bone saw too? 😆

How did you find out about the new Scouts?

Thanks! I was trying to come up with something that wouldn’t look like some of those custom-painted cars with actual star wars artwork - don’t get me wrong I’ve seen some that are incredible - but I want something that I won’t be afraid to drive onto a forest road or across sandy dunes. And I...

How did you find out about the new Scouts?

It’s my avatar pic, which admittedly is a bit small so here’s a bigger version. The wheels are from a Bronco Heritage and the bumpers, tires, and roof rack were taken from that green off-road kitted mockup ‘photo’ Scout put out awhile back. The ‘photos’ themselves were from that…other…. Scout...

How did you find out about the new Scouts?

We bought a mach-e a year and a half ago and immediately loved having an ev. Our Civic hybrid is almost 13 years old now and I’ve long wanted to replace it with an off-road suv now that we have practicality covered with the Mustang (never thought I’d put those two words in the same sentence!)...

Yeah that’s kind of where I’ve landed. I was looking at a used jeep for awhile (don’t need a daily driver and I don’t really want to wait 2+ years for an off-road capable car), but what I don’t want more than the civic is another car payment. 140,000 miles on it, still gets about 40mpg (I gas it...

Oh that’s good to know. Admittedly I gave up on it awhile ago and haven’t looked at it recently. Also, @SpaceEVDriver if your job ever has a take-a-forum-buddy-to-work-day-so-they-can-drive-a-mars-rover (or something) let me know lol…

This has me curious as to how other carmakers handle these settings. Apologies for the long setup here… Like SpaceEVDriver we have a Mach-E and love it. I don’t share their couple issues with it as detailed in the initial post, and while I wait for Scout I’ve (slightly) toyed with replacing our...

What do you all do? Curious about Scout buyers occupations, or former occupations.

This crawler model was my 3rd attempt. First one was 25 years ago and looked…absolutely awful lol. I didn’t know what I was doing and didn’t have good reference material. Second attempt was about 20 years ago…and looked even worse. This attempt…I started it in 2007, had it finished enough for an...

Thanks! Here’s another couple shots - unlike the film model which only has the right hand side finished (and the top and back but those weren’t ever visible til the Special Edition films), mine is the whole thing, with an interior. That second shot was when I pulled out the old 120+ LEDs I’d...

Ooh now there’s a Pandora’s box lol - here are a few 😊 The TARDIS photos are a few years old, it’s not water cooled anymore so those hoses and copper colored radiator are gone but otherwise still looks similar.

Wow a lot of cool careers here. I bounced around in retail jobs for a few years out of college after studying music and 3d art/animation and deciding on both fronts I’d rather keep them as hobbies than turn them into work and end up hating them. So, passions first - 40 year ‘amateur’ classical...

Is there anything SM could offer to get you to switch from EREV to BEV?

If scout can come up with a battery that gets 350-400 or more real world miles I’ll switch to BEV. We love our RWD Mach-e that we bought a year and a half ago with the extended range battery (320 mile) but using it real world we’re lucky to get 250-270 miles on the highway. I absolutely love...
