  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

Is there anything SM could offer to get you to switch from EREV to BEV?

If scout can come up with a battery that gets 350-400 or more real world miles I’ll switch to BEV. We love our RWD Mach-e that we bought a year and a half ago with the extended range battery (320 mile) but using it real world we’re lucky to get 250-270 miles on the highway. I absolutely love...

EV reservation holders, would you consider the Harvester

Some thoughts from the other side of the fence: I reserved the harvester, though I would definitely prefer the BEV. I’ve debated changing my reservation - last year we bought a Mach-E and absolutely love it. Driven lots of short drives and a few long hauls, through mountains, on plains, with...

    Scout Color Poll #1

My parents’ favorite story about that pinto was the time when I was 7 or 8 and my dad was sanding some wood in the garage. He went inside, I got hold of the sanding block, and when he came back out I was happily sanding away…on the car 😆 I don’t think I did much damage but they were not thrilled...

    Scout Color Poll #1

Makes sense to me, copper isn’t too far off of brown (and orange and red) and that looks like a coppery brown. That said there are definitely unattractive shades of brown. Like the Ford Pinto station wagon my parents had when I was a kid. 🤢 😆 Please Scout, no ford pinto brown k thx.

Is there anything SM could offer to get you to switch from EREV to BEV?

I reserved an EREV for two reasons - I (mistakenly) believed the battery-only range would be a lot better than it looks like it’ll be, and I wanted gas capability for those way-off-the-grid places I want to go where the nearest charger might be too far away. However, having owned a mach-e for a...

    Scout Color Poll #1

I remember seeing those photos! Such a cool design. I’m especially drawn to the 1976 part since that’s when I was born 😆 I also love the checkered ends of the stripes at the tail, and how it looks like someone said “we don’t need a roof AND a hood.”

    Scout Color Poll #1

I’d absolutely go for a traveler done up in the Baja racing livery (even though they ran the Terra, not the traveler, as far as I’m aware). It’s definitely not something most people would want but I think it’d be pretty cool. Scout’s answer to the Stroppe Bronco.

    Scout Color Poll #1

Indeed. I’ve always liked bright colors and unique designs, so when my wife saw a Stroppe Bronco on the local dealer lot last year and said she liked the paint job I was like oooooh really?? 😆 Aside from not having $ for a monthly payment for a second car right now the main draw for me with...

    Scout Color Poll #1

Ok, so I’m a bit unusual but I think this would be fun. Big star wars fan and I’ve always loved R2D2’s character, so I came up with this paint job as a not-quite-overt homage. Sort of an inverse vintage look - white body w/colored top vs the other way around. Dark blue top, silver window...

Switching Harvester to All EV Model?

I remember filling up* my 2000 Dodge Dakota years ago. Put the gas nozzle into the receiver on the side of the truck, beep-booped the necessary buttons, pulled the trigger on the nozzle handle…. And immediately started watching gasoline dump out from under/behind the body panel onto the ground...

One feature that made you pull the the trigger on a reservation….

To toss my own answer in here to the OP, the fact it’s electric. I love the Broncos, see them all the time and have been sorely tempted to get one as soon as I can afford the monthly payment. We just bought a Mach-E last Nov. and after getting spoiled with charging the car at home, never going...

One feature that made you pull the the trigger on a reservation….

“Dude, your Jeep is smokin’!” “Thanks man, yeah it’s real nice.” “Um, no, like…I think it’s on fire…?”

What would your last vehicle be if you had to decide today

Since I note the OP said ‘vehicle’ rather than ‘car’ I’m tempted to say P-51B (or X-wing if I’m being completely ridiculous 😆) but ok, assuming car. I’m a sucker for early 80’s/90’s lambos, but honestly I’ve always wanted a rebuilt/refurb Pantera. I think I’d take one over the Lamborghini, same...

    What was your first car?

First post here, though I’ve lurked for awhile (mostly looking at the various renders and photos of the concepts). First car was a 1985 Honda Accord, dark blue inside, dark blue outside (my parents let me pick the color and I was 8 at the time 😆). Pretty sure it had a white pinstripe - so very...
