I just saw this post as well
I’m from Missouri…I wonder why they need to expand the plant? I guess maybe they are expecting they will need a higher capacity with the reaction the Scouts have been getting.
Update: never mind i found out why,
Or maybe it’s The TravelStar. The 3-row battle wagon on the Terra frame. Or… The Scoutsie!I’m from Missouri…

Totally! Scout is already pretty interactive with its reservation holders but I still think it could do more. Like they could confirm the dumbest stuff and we'd all eat it up. "We are confirming that the frame and body panels will be made of steel." The forum would be on fire!
Seriously though, let's say they have 12 months to eat up between now and when they release the configurator so we can all lock in our purchases (I'm being positive here!). Now let's say that's 11 months because the month before they could confirm the release of it. In those 11 months, we'll have the website update and the visualizer. Now we're down to nine empty months. They could confirm one thing a month. Doesn't even have to be big things like colors and wheels (of which we'll get a hint when the visualizer comes out). Confirm the size of a glove box, or the cubic inches of the center console, or how fast the wireless charging will be, or the number of settings you have for following distance on adaptive cruise control. I mean, it's endless. I know they don't want to confirm something that many not happen, but like, they have a lot of stuff they can confirm between now and production that they could confirm today.
The frame is made of steel.
I like your idea and do think 1st quarter next year, you will all be a bit happier with some new information coming. We are working on a chassis display so we can do some deep dives into the platform.
Many technical details come down to final specifications and actual certifications. If we add a little more battery to one model, we don't want to keep coming back here with corrected or changed information that will only disappoint or frustrate people. We hear you all on the length of time, and trust me, we're going crazy on our end too. 2027 will be a big year with a LOT to talk about. We knew 2026 would be a longer wait and, arguably, a fairly quiet period. That said, we showed many different versions of the vehicles; we added another concept; we made a headquarters announcement; we expanded the supplier park; and on and on. Most importantly, we are stamping actual Scout sheet metal now and building validation/test bodies, some of which will become test vehicles.
So 2027 will have a lot going on, starting with a new website, a visualizer to play with, lots of testing and development work we can finally share with everyone, a deep dive into our chassis and driveline, and lots more.
As always, we appreciate everyone's patience.![]()
Never apologize for being passionate about something. Thanks Jamie - all of this is understood and appreciated...
When my wife gets on me about how much I talk about Scout I have to remind her it's like Christmas eve and Groundhog day blended! Just so much excitement it's hard to contain, but for her it's like I just keep saying the same stuff over and over again! (I guess I should feel sorry for her).![]()
Thanks Jamie, so much to look forward to. I can’t wait!!The frame is made of steel.

Responded then saw this. Scary how much are sarcasm alignsRegular steel or galvanized steel?
To be fair, mine was only partially sarcastic since the FAQ I linked has it noted as galvanized. I don't recall ever seeing a galvanized frame on a factory truck/SUV.Responded then saw this. Scary how much are sarcasm aligns
I thought of a new one. Original scouts had the color Siam. If you reverse it, it is Mais +e is a corn/grain that is pale yellow. It’s a throwback to original color and it has a farm theme connection. And the E can be for EV. So I think we should call it MaiseSide note: In my head, I've changed the PBY acronym to a more accurate Peeled Banana Yellow after the whole color-of-butter controversy.
Regular steel hopefully. Painted with a strong enamel.Regular steel or galvanized steel?
VETO! I quickly read that as Malaise, a decidedly bad era you want no vehicular association with.I thought of a new one. Original scouts had the color Siam. Much like powdercoating. That's why I'm looking for some confirmation on the FAQ answer.Regular steel hopefully. Painted with a strong enamel.
Galvanized is great until a chip happens.
I have posted this name idea somewhere else on this forum.I thought of a new one. Original scouts had the color Siam. If you reverse it, it is Mais +e is a corn/grain that is pale yellow.
