How would you build your Scout?

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

Almost looks like a 70’s creeper van. I wonder if there is shag carpeting inside

Never did put my build in here, so thread bump!

With no regard for budget:
Tahitian Traveler Harvester, black roof
Solid roof
Terra Cotta interior with front bench seating
Heated AND ventilated bench
Spare tire/carrier
#4 18" wheels with cheapest stock tires
Tow/hitch
Front and rear modular steel bumpers
Front winch
Front locker

Budget build:
Tahitian Traveler Harvester
Solid roof
Front bench seating in cheapest color
Heated AND ventilated bench
Spare tire/carrier
#4 18" wheels with cheapest stock tires
Tow/hitch

I wasn’t sure where to put this. Here seemed as good a place as any. I went online and built a Jeep Recon. It has similar features so I wanted to see how it was optioned and the price.

You can either select all one color or two tone. There were quite a few 0 dollar options for colors and I didn’t think $995 was bad for the orange. I’m hoping Scout doesn’t go higher than that for the up charge for paint colors.

Our Scouts won’t have removable doors so that won’t be something we need to pay for but Jeep is charging $1995 for rock rails.

That is something I would like included in an offroad package. Steel bumpers, rock rails and tire carrier. I think that would be a good package.

Only two wheel options and $500 extra for an aero wheel. I hope Scout has a lot more choices. This is an area where I think they could go a lot higher. Have a nice standard wheel, a couple low to mid options and then wheels that are thousands.

Next, tires. They only have 1! That’s not enough. We definitely need more tire options. Street tires, off road tires, heck those mud tires were amazing. We definitely, definitely need more than one tire choice.

The black roof I selected above so it’s just noting it here. This is where it gets confusing. You can select it above and then it limits your interior color choices, or you can select it in the body of the build sheet.
