This is the band they had playing it would seem. I’m more excited about seeing them sitting in the frunk. It can hold two people!

Thanks so much for all the pictures! Appreciate it so much!!Ok. I had to make a decision: either bask in the glory, chat with employees, and help create excitement for other show goers ... or take a billion photos for internetstrangersfriends. So I went with the fully selfish decision and ngl.. I'm glad I did. I spent an hour in the booth while my family explored half the auto show (we'd all checked out one half earlier). And I enjoyed every minute of it.
I've seen it posted that they're bigger in person than they look on photos, and I agree - they're substantial. I'm sure the big ass tires are helping, but neither vehicle felt small.
I took some photos - notably photos of angles and areas that I dont see often. There's a billion well framed shots of the major features. So I went for small details. A few comments:
Photo dump here (65 of them): https://www.icloud.com/photos/#/icloudlinks/059AE-vUTViFXy6c_Z_PvtNHQ/
- The front mask I thought was like some weird many-light-bulb pulse looking thing. Nope, its the way the plastic is carved out that creates the many-lighbulb effect. (Got some pics of it up close)
- Interesting that Terra has 2 plugs under back seat controls, Traveler has one plug. I'm sure this'll change in production, but found it interesting.
- Lights behind the inside arm rests are subtle and I like them!
- I'm 5'10 - the top of the Terra's bed came up to my upper chest.
@cyure I tried and tried to get an iphone measurement picture for you of the Traveler including the rails. My phone didnt like it. Kept saying it was like 7'6 or over 8' tall lol. Also was unable to get the shot you wanted from the back as there was an employee standing there the entire time talking to folks. But I think that look was captured via the other video.
@J Alynn I got as many under carriage as I could for ya![]()

Oh-the important question. Did they exceed your expectations based on what you had merely seen in photos? And was there one thing you didn’t care for as much once you saw them in person?Ok. After seeing the door controls, which I don’t think I’ve seen before, I can safely say that pretty much no VW parts will be on this.Ok. Hard to exceed my expectations - I'm basically in love and the Terra is my dream truck (I dont know if I've ever had one of those before - most trucks are 'just fine' to me).Oh-the important question. Did they exceed your expectations based on what you had merely seen in photos? And was there one thing you didn’t care for as much once you saw them in person?
It has to be so hard as a designer. Trying to please everyone. I love the exterior lighting on the trucks. Especially the mask in the front it’s different. I definitely agree we need a grab bar for the driver. I am so glad we get real buttons and I love that darn compass. I would even pay extra for it. I have to have a compass.Hard to exceed my expectations - I'm basically in love and the Terra is my dream truck (I dont know if I've ever had one of those before - most trucks are 'just fine' to me).
One of the things I noted was that my family and I had been hopping in/out of vehicles all morning. Liked a few, hated a bunch. I think I hated 100% of the EVs interior? Not a single one I liked. Liked the Chevy 1500 AT4 (gas) interior. Liked the VW Atlas interior. Notably (for both) was the layout of the screen+instruments/buttons.
Scout was the only EV that didnt try WAY too hard to lean into the "omg screens!" thing. It treats the screens as a tool, not as a 'ohhhh preeettyy ligghhtss' thing.
I was able to (briefly) touch the leather inlay on the Terra's door. Felt nice! I liked the plaid pattern of the perforations.
I still dont really care for the lights around the front mask nor the wrap around lights in the back. Wondering if there's wires I can cut/unplug when I take ownership. Still hoping the rear cup holders arent as dinky and I hope they add a grab handle on driver side. I hope the seats are comfy.
Ultimately, I'm just as in love (or moreso) now!
After seeing the door controls, which I don’t think I’ve seen before, I can safely say that pretty much no VW parts will be on this.
I also love on how the concept are glorified golf carts, the 120v extension cord plugged in at the bottom powering the Scout for the show.
I’m with you here. Having a hard time not obsessing over it. My wife is beginning to poke fun at me.Hard to exceed my expectations - I'm basically in love and the Terra is my dream truck (I dont know if I've ever had one of those before - most trucks are 'just fine' to me).
<snip>
Question, The interior door cups/grips. Will those have the lighting elements? or is that just for show right now? Both trucks are displayed with their lights on all day at the show and they run off of a 12v battery, so we have to plug them in to avoid draining that battery.
When I go to tell my husband something he asks me “is this about the Scout?” Ha!I’m with you here. Having a hard time not obsessing over it. My wife is beginning to poke fun at me.
There are aspects of the lighting I love and some other aspects that are take it or leave it so nothing that offends me but good to hear/read your insight from having just seen themHard to exceed my expectations - I'm basically in love and the Terra is my dream truck (I dont know if I've ever had one of those before - most trucks are 'just fine' to me).

I think I recall Jamie or someone at NYC telling me there will be an OS handle on drivers side in production. But not sure that was publicly stated in the forumHard to exceed my expectations - I'm basically in love and the Terra is my dream truck (I dont know if I've ever had one of those before - most trucks are 'just fine' to me).

Thanks for clarifying-I just answered that and couldn’t remember if I read it or posted it because I heard it at NYC. This info all gets blurry after a whileSeems I read somewhere in these forums that @Jamie@ScoutMotors et. al said there would be a grab handle for the driver.
My wife has mentally written me off for the next 2 years. Yesterday our Keurig died so we ran to Target. I found a $20 cheaper version than she found online and as she is my financial advisor I told her to apply that $20 to my Scout fundWhen I go to tell my husband something he asks me “is this about the Scout?” Ha!
Hope they make it. I see other manufacturers offering that detail but worry it may get the axe from the bean countersQuestion, The interior door cups/grips. Will those have the lighting elements? or is that just for show right now?
Every time my husband wants to buy something or offers to buy me something I’m asking do we really need it, I’m getting a Scout. My wife has mentally written me off for the next 2 years. I think she’s over the Scout. Shes happy I’m engaged and excited-she’s just beyond it at this point.
