Its a very commonly used name for those types of events.
There are big Jeep Jamborees all over the US each year.
Jeep Jamborees are off-road adventure weekends that bring together the outdoors, down-to-earth people, and their Jeep 4x4s.

They are very well organized and offer different experiences based on your comfort level.
FROM FAQ:
What’s a Jeep Jamboree
- It’s a full two-day, family-oriented four-wheel-drive adventure that’s probably unlike anything you’ve ever experienced. Jeep Jamborees cater to every level of expertise so they’re fun for everyone – from novice to veteran and everyone in between.
- Any Jeep vehicle with a 4-LO transfer case can participate – that includes everything from showroom stock all the way up to highly modified rigs.
- Experienced guides help navigate you through scenic switchbacks and some of the most challenging off-highway situations you never thought your Jeep vehicle was capable of. And, perhaps best of all, you’ll be meeting and making new friends along the way.
Classic vs. Select vs. Signature vs. Adventure
“Classic” Jamborees have all meals included. In addition to the traditional Friday and Saturday night family-style dinners, “Classic” Jamborees provide guests with a hot breakfast as well as a trail lunch on Friday and Saturday.
“Select” Jamborees include Friday and Saturday night family-style dinners only, giving you the opportunity to enjoy whatever type of breakfast and lunch you prefer. Several of our “Select” Jamborees have the opportunity to order a trail lunch from a local deli that is delivered each morning. The reduced meal costs for these trips allow us to pass the savings on to you.
“Signature” Jamborees have been created with specific inclusions that might be outside the normal Jamboree offerings. These trips are neither Classic or Select in nature. They are small groups (in most cases no more than 10 vehicles per trip) and include highlights that are unavailable in normal Jamborees: in-depth driving instruction with skilled guides, access to terrain and challenges beyond standard off-road trails, sometimes accommodations are included, in many cases all food and beverages are provided, and in some cases, we provide the Jeep vehicles for you. Please refer directly to the trip itinerary for details of what’s included in your trip fee. Learn more about
Signature Trips
“Adventure” Jamborees are overlanding style trips. You will be responsible for all of your own meals, camping equipment, and disposal of all garbage and human waste. We will strictly follow the “pack-it-in, pack-it-out” philosophy. Our Overland trips are dynamic and factors such as weather or mechanical issues may affect the flow of the trip.
NOTE: Meals vary. Regretfully, no accommodations can be made for dietary restrictions or special diets.
There is also a massive Toyota Jamboree that happens to be really close to me.

I think its one of the biggest in the US.
Sponsors come from other countries and all over the US to attend and show off their gear. Toyota has had an official presence in recent years which is cool. They brought out the new Land Cruiser, Tacoma, and 4Runner before they were released one year.
Made a lot of lasting relationships with people at those events by helping each other out and it really brings the best out in people. I have volunteered the past few years and loved it.
There are a bunch of events and competitions at the Lone Star Toyota Jamboree. Blind Mans bluff is a crowd favorite! There is also a race across the rock garden which gets pretty wild. "The Stampede" race on their obstacle course, and many others.
Its more of a loosely organized event so people tend to cluster together with similarly capable rigs and hit trails of varying difficulty.
They also have an offroad recovery class, and some guided runs as well that are ran by volunteers to help get Newbies started on their adventure.
I can see how the name would confuse some folks, but if they cant figure it out we may not want them hurling an 8,000lb rig down a trail behind us. lol
The name tag idea is cool. Though I think yall will figure our who I am pretty easily
