Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.
So no article but stumbled (on FB) an image of the new Dodge Charger with a turbo V-6, you know, instead of the EV and every single reply is people $hitting on it because it isn’t a V-8. Great to know it’s not just Scout that takes crap for not having V-8’s. 🤣🤣🤣
So true! A minor detail, but it is an inline 6, not a V6.

Good catch. Had V8 in my head when I typed that. Amazing how demanding buyers get and how quick they are to hate on things. Remember the new Integra came out a few years ago and everyone just hated on it. Had dinner last night at a friend’s with other guests I didn’t know-two of us walked out and he was parked behind me in an Integra. He’s owned a number of Acuras and other sport sedans and said with the stick shift it is probably the best/most fun drivers vehicle he’s ever driven despite all the haters. It’s like kids saying they don’t like a food but have never even tried it

The sales numbers tell me that the customers aren’t hating, they just aren’t interested in muscle cars that don’t make (real) muscle car sounds.

That would be like In and Out switching to all soy patties and acting surprised when people stop buying them.

And this is before the savings in maintenance, reliability, energy cost (especially if most charging is at home). And, because I have solar, I don’t have to rely on the whims of petty politicians or greedy corporations; I generate my own fuel at home.
Exactly. It begs the question why so many people are against an EV. Short of the week long + overlanders and boon dockers an EV should satisfy the needs of 90% of buyers

Yes. Cannot wait for full BEV. Lots of charging infrastructure is being created. Even Buc-ee’s has them now
Any idea of how many at Buc-ee’s? My family will be hitting one next weekend in VA on the way back to college that recently opened-I’ll have to convince them to take some pics. Wonder if they will realize the benefit to having them. It’s still not a Scheetz’s or WaWa but it is a large chain fuel stop so they have to factor charging in

I've never been to a Buc-ee's or any of their competitors. But on one of my road trips, I passed a Buc-ee's on the other side of the freeway. The line to get in was a half mile long and was blocking freeway traffic. I had to laugh at the people who claim they're not willing to charge for 20 minutes but will sit in line at Costco or Buc-ee's waiting for gas.

My wife was at Costco yesterday. 10 people out onto the road and there is a Sheetz on the other side of Costco with no lines all to save $.09/ gallon. That’s probably a $1.20-ish total and they wasted 15 minutes to save that dollar 🤣

That's quite a conundrum.

Because when things go right, work well and are less expensive people aren’t shouting from the rooftops this is amazing. But when things go wrong, broken chargers, range anxiety, etc they are very very loud about it.

Haha, it's all about dignity and sticking it the man! I refuse to pay the 0.05 cents for a bag in our county and will display my awesome circus degree in the parking lot!

I think there were like 8-10 of them. Full row back of the parking lot, Tesla superchargers

On I40 near the border between AZ and CA, there's a 25 mile one-way drive from Needles, CA to the nearest gas station in AZ. People will load up their gas cans, drive 50 miles, idle in line on the freeway for up to an hour, just to get slightly cheaper gas. It blows my mind.

They have awesome sandwiches, almonds, jerky but it’s expensive, tons of things. It really has a huge following. Early morning or night is best. Definitely can shop while charging and you won’t be bored.
