From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.
Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

I agree but I find my Stanley knock off mug is actually smaller than my Accord cup holder and it wobbles around. Hope bigger “rings” then those compressible inner pads that snug up different sized mugs. And maybe removable and dishwasher safe to clean all the crap out of the bottom of them
Yeah definitely needs to be able to adjust to different sizes for sure. I like the idea of it being washable as well!
I had just recently heard how J.D. Power in their customer initial quality survey for 2025 have found that “cupholders being difficult to use” went from being the 7th most problematic issue for new vehicles to the 3rd most reported issue this year.

maybe they should just make a SCOUT BOTTLE that is BIG and fits in the cupholder, they can give ya a few freeos when you buy your truck,a gift for putting down $100 bucks and waiting for years, not to mention some buzzzzz
The Scout Nalgene on the Scout Supply Shop is too big to fit into the cup holders of the current concepts vehicles
Yeah. I think everyone went bigger with holders and the aluminum mug mafia decided to make the bases smaller so now it’s problematic
I like that idea but I’d be fine paying for one-sell them at cost on the configurator-offer scout orange and scout slate blue then for $25 more offer them in custom colors to match exteriors. That would be cool. Solid color with the Scout’ script etched in

Ok, will add in my complaint to this. I have several vehicles with different sized holders - my F250 has 2 different sized holders in the front console. Latest craze has been tall insulated cups (thank you Stanley - not sure if that is satire or not). Too large of cup holder, and it flies ever time I take a turn from a stop sign. Meanwhile, it will not even fit in one vehicle - they did a universal stepped cup holder, that will not let it go down to the bottom - so it wants to fall over even if stationary (have to intentionally not use that cup in that vehicle).
Anyway, do have a 3d printer. Eventually I will print inserts for some of the vehicles to give me a stable cup holder for them for that cup. I like the size, as I can dump a 44oz convenience store beverage into it - thanks Covid, have to buy the foam cup now and throw it away 60 seconds latter since refills are not not allowed.
Funny realization. If I fill a 44 oz cup with ice - there is just enough room for a 12oz can of beverage (diet coke for me most of the time, ice on beer is just wrong) in it. But the insulated cup keeps the ice well, so I can use the ice most of the day if I don't pour in a warm beverage over the ice. The tall cups are easier to reach than wide cups - and the SS cups don't crush when you grab them from the top like the foam ones occasionally do (dropping the entire cup of soda and ice into your lap).

I like the idea of the cup holders being oversized with inserts to get the size you want. There are designs for car cup holders I have seen where the cup holder adjusts to the size of the cup you are using, but since they have not become prevalent I am guessing there are issues with them.
If they do go with the oversized-with-inserts idea, I hope they make STL (3D printing) files available. That way, those of us with a 3D printer can print our own. And those of us with 3D design skills can make inserts to hold all sorts of things.

I have never had those in a car. How do we feel about those?
If they “recover” or have memory they are great. If they are mechanical and not made of top notch materials they can break early on or just become loose-like the springs becoming sprung
I really just need to get annoyed enough. I am no designer, but even the simplest of cad software could design an insert in a few minutes. I would need to measure the outside dimensions, and figure out the cone angles for the cup. Make a cylinder for the first and subtract the cone. I have used a few cad programs in the last 25 years - but for 3d printing have only used the grade school stuff (software designed for 10 year olds).
