From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.
Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.
How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Hello. I was raised in Colorado and father owned a Scout and it was amazing. Big question is will the glass top Scout work in AZ?
Work, yes. Something you'd want and not be annoyed by in 2 weeks... probably not
What do you mean by “work?” If you mean “would it function,” yes, it should. I don’t know how comfortable it would be: there aren’t enough details available on how the plain glass roof is going to work (does it have an electric tint, is there a shade, etc). Stay tuned?
We were told that the electric chromatic fog was too expensive. But, who knows ins couple years. So, I would think a shade is the most likely solution…at this point.
Ah, bummer… hopefully that comes down in price in due time because it’s a neat feature. A shade’s going to give the most bang for your fragile skin’s buck.
We're in Northern AZ, spent a little more than a decade in Tucson and still visit family there at all times of the year. We also do a lot of road tripping and camping in the Arizona desert in spring and summer. We have the glass roof on the Mustang Mach-E and the glass roof on the Lightning. They both have energy reduction coatings built into them.
They're fine, and it's not much warmer inside than a metal roof would be. We put a cover over the Mustang's glass in the summer. The Lightning has a built-in cover that can be opened or closed; it's usually closed in the summer. In the winter, we leave both open to warm up the vehicle, but it doesn't do much.

My thoughts exactly. I have had spring and summer experiences in a Tesla Model Y and the roof shade needed to be in 100% of the time because of the heat in the frequent sunshine. Seemed pointless to even have the glass roof “feature” since it was always covered. Obviously if you don’t live in a sunny area you’ll likely have a different experience.
I skipped out on the glass roof option of the MachE specifically for the rear seat passengers (my kids). Even thought the glass is supposedly very efficient at keeping out heat, I think the sun above them when riding around would get old fast. I have heard that for front seat passengers, it's not an issue. I will be going for the cabana top anyway 
Glass roof would be great in morning, evening and off-roading in the mountains and just a nice option. But with the planet warming up and everything

Scottsdale here. Live about 10 minutes from the TNF access points out in the RVF. Long time Jeep guy, lot of seat time under my belt. Looking forward to playing around with the Traveler once it's arrived and getting to know some other Scout owners.
I’m a bit surprised by this. I had a Model 3 pano roof as well as currently drive a Mach E pano roof and haven’t felt the heat through the roof on either. I’ll also add that I’m a bald dude as well (no remarks, it’s shaved by choice, lol). As long as there’s some coating on it, it should be fine. I love them because it completely opens up the feel of the cabin. Unsure about the cabana top in Az though, would be great for 5 months, then unused, lol.
Oof - the Cabana top in AZ scares me for 6 months of the year. I’m torn. I have a MachE with the pano roof and wouldn’t change it for a thing. Really opens up the cabin. I can understand the backseat concern, but two kids traveling west valley to east valley to soccer tournaments and no mentions of not liking it. I think he’s saying he’s surprised about people’s concern about too much sunlight and heat coming through the panoramic glass roof.

Driving through Phoenix today. The official temperature is around 113-115 ⁰F.
This is what the car thermometer reads. The thermometer has to have a clear "view" of the tarmac. Still, in my 50+ years in AZ, I've never had a thermometer on a car read that high.
