What trim levels would you like to see at launch?

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

What kind of trim levels would people like to see at launch? From prior posts in other threads there’s concern there will only be one expensive launch trim so let’s tell Scout what we want.

I’m thinking 4 trims with the option for BEV or EREV so in reality that’s 8 trim levels.

So a base with all season tires. Well appointed but not crazy. The things that you would normally see in a vehicle and expect these days.

A “luxury” trim. Think 4Runner limited. A “prettier” Scout.

A off road version with 33 inch tires standard with the ability to add 35s. Can add air suspension, roof rack or winch. I’m thinking comparable to a Rubicon or a 4Runner off-road. It’s loaded but not crazy.

Then the top of the line version is like a Bronco Raptor or a Wrangler 392 but would hope more the price of a TRD PRO. It has every option and feature thrown on it whether you need it or not.

What other ideas for trims? And you all have to forgive me. I’m still reading my Scout Encyclopedia so I’m not as versed in what Scout trims were called back in the day. I know Jeeps, etc.

I want a 3/4 luxury level-not top of the line bells and whistles like air suspension but heat/cool seats, two tone leather/pleather seating that is upper tier and general bells and whistles of an upper tier mainstream car brand. With an off-road “look” package with carrier and roof rack and 35’s
So basically basic luxury with an off-road appearance package.

Tough choice, for us it will come down to option availability. Will things be somewhat a la carte or will some things only be in certain trims? Yes to air bag suspension, maybe to a rear locker, no to front locker and sway disconnect. Yes to heated seats, ok to cooled seats. Yes to outside cameras, front view, 360 view. Either 31” all terrain tires or 33” KO3s, wheels small enough for proper sidewalls. Being able to fit the spare in the frunk might be important. I like the look of the rear spare, but can it swing out with a trailer attached? We need to open the tailgate to get to chocks, leveling blocks, etc.

Scott Keough mentions that the Scout is the Levi jeans of electric trucks, but it seems Jeep beat them to the market of a Levi Jeans edition back in 70's. Not going to lie; the seats look pretty rad, so imagine the sun's heat off those buttons.

Wow that’s something all right.

That’s cool. Never knew that existed. And yes-those buttons must have burned on a hot day

..... and throw in the brake controller Like BartMan Terra Total EV said. Perfect package.
I'm so embarrassed that I did not mention this!

Huge yes to tow package with:
- hitch receiver, 7 way and 4 way plugs
- auto enable tow mode when 7 way or 4 way plugged in
- integrated brake controller in the center so the front passenger can reach it
- ability to use weight distribution hitch, should be no problem w/ body on frame
- frunk mount for spare tire if Traveler swing out won't clear trailer tongue jack
- optional towing mirrors for those with wider trailers, standard if they don't affect mi/kWh
- adequate drive unit and battery cooling for extra drive needs and regen brake input
- stiffer rear springs to reduce squat, optional four corner air suspension
- grade aware nav to manage battery for uphill power and downhill regen
- strong tie downs inside over axle, better to move things there from trailer front than to trailer back
- big bonus for rear view mirror display that can integrate wireless trailer rear camera (third party opportunity?)
- turn signals turn on back pointing camera in the mirror in the driver instrument area
- tpms integrates trailer tire sensors, widget for constant display in center screen
- warnings before regen capacity gets low
- rear suspension load sensors to gauge tongue weight
- better yet four corner load sensors to also get payload and weight distribution management

Huge list, I' fine with some being after sale upfitter items.

This trim will probably not happen at launch but I want a Base trim; steel roof, standard suspension, dual motor (for AWD, 4x4), two-way charging, and maybe even cloth seats.

Nothing fancy, just a decent rugged off-road vehicle with air conditioning and maybe adaptive cruise control but I'd even settle for basic cruise control instead since that keeps working in a snowstorm (unlike adaptive cruise once the radar gets covered in snow).

Call it the "Root" trim or something.

Simple, functional, reliable, less stuff to break.

Would like a trim that has
-pleather/vinyl seating for easy cleaning (pets) but the shoulder bolsters could be a retro patterned fabric.
-a floor that is carpet free, perhaps some sort of rubber matting for easy cleaning
-no fabric on the backs of the seats to keep pet hair from sticking
-heated steering wheel and heated seats
-remote lockers front and rear coupled with the stock 33” A/T tires.
-8 way power driver and passenger front seats
-standard center console with option to choose the bench seat
-steel roof as standard with the glass and cabana as options

Would like option to add cooled seats to the above proposed trim only if they’re truly cooled seats and not just ventilated with under seat fans.

Would like the option to add rock sliders and front winch to the trim as stand alone options.

Hopeful that the UI and tech shown currently in the prototypes will be the same throughout all available trims at time of launch.
