Spare Tire

Please make the spare tire standard. Reps shared that it wouldn't be today in Cola. They even challenged the fact that other main competitors don't offer them i.e. the Bronco (inaccurate info btw). But an upcharge for a spare tire on a purpose-built off-road vehicle is an interesting choice. While I understand the Rivian doesn't offer one, the Scout is in a whole other category.

Having had a flat tire on my R1T and having to have it towed, the spare tire is a must. I'd prefer to see it included but if it's not, I'm going to have to add it on.

I'd be really curious how many people who get the tire carrier could actually lift the tire on or off the vehicle. 35s are heavy. I'm 44 and am in pretty good shape. Getting the 35 up to the back of my Wrangler is a challenge.

I’ll admit I’m 53 and with the carrier unless I’m out in no man’s land, I’m keeping my AAA membership and having them do it. Call me lazy but I’ve had arthritis in my joints since I was in elementary school and the idea of getting a 33 or 35 set up out of that carrier sounds like weeks of pain

This is an inaccurate statement and you can absolutely order a spare with a Rivian (I have 20" full-sized spare with an A/T sitting in the bed of my truck right now), or simply buy one in their online gear store here for any wheel or tire configuration: https://gearshop.rivian.com/products/full-size-spare-tire

I’m in my 50s and have won a (local, not regional) powerlifting competition. I’m not a weak person.

I have trouble lifting, aligning, and installing a 35 or 37 on my trucks when doing tire rotations. It’s not just weight, it’s also all of the dexterity issues with getting that wheel to slip over those lugs.

Also, what else does a person have a AAA membership for but to have your tire changed or battery charged or whatnot? It’s helpful for hotel discounts and car insurance, but it’s definitely not the reason why I have one. It’s absolutely for roadside assistance and it’s paid itself back in dividends because you can also use it when you’re a passenger in someone else’s car who is having a roadside emergency. Damn helpful. AAA is great. Nothing wrong with getting help from them in a pinch. Sometimes, the wait time sucks if you live somewhere remote or if they’re particularly swamped. Otherwise, they’re pretty great.
