Hey all, typical lurker in the forums here. I'd like to get some feedback from everyone regarding the challenge coin topic. I know from a prior post that a lot of people aren't fond of the idea of challenge coins due to the NADA association or believing that it should stay as a military tradition, but in my opinion, it's more than that. It allows you to create a sense of community when you run into another Scout if they're given out when you purchase a vehicle; whether it's by giving you a talking point if you don't bring yours or if you're talking with non-Scouts, it can get them intrigued in the idea of picking up a Scout (traditionally, if you forget or lose your challenge coin, you buy a round, but it could just be a talking point and can just give each other crap if you forgot yours). My girlfriend was kind enough to throw together some mock ups of what might be decent designs for such a challenge coin and we'd like some feedback on which everyone would prefer. Here's a render of the fronts and backs:
These are currently rough drafts (and if they're not allowed, Jaime strike me down!), the intention is to poke Scout to give the thought of including something like them, if enough people think they're a good idea. If we get a LOT of positive feedback, our plan is to have a couple made, post how they turned out, and then leave it for the company to decide what to do. We wanted to give the options of being vehicle agnostic, having them be vehicle specific, and some variety for the front. The coloring can be added or removed as well. Below is an example of what the first back coin might look like, based on another challenge coin I got from PAX West a few years back:
Feedback is always welcomed, on every aspect of the idea!
