I'd like to see a simple "push and click" ,"pull ant turn"," crank and wind" approach to simple overbuilt function. No nonsense distracting screens and pleasant chimes. Just get in sit down drive with no distractions. Creature comforts are in reality "new tag" on how Volvos were building in comfort and adjustability. Mix the original Scout ideals in with Swedish logic and prepare it for overlanding activities and you have a winner.
Simplify every function into a simple manual click or turn and use the battery for powering the drive train.
My thoughts , in a world of unreliable quickly depreciating cars trucks that are increasingly built with limiters and modulators and forever blinking warning lights ,t's time to see the old "Swiss Army knife" approach to making a vehicle that you can pass down to your kids when you buy another one. Something tactile and REAL with "real bumpers" and room for bumps and bruises.
If battery power is the future then make the top surfaces solar, if your driving have turbines in the bodylines that create free current.
Think Swedish Volvo or Saab practicality in every function of every part.
Scouts reflected that back in the day, simple effective reliable clunky means of transportation.
Crash the party with simplicity ,form and function. Not feature rich stuff that dates itself .

I think the point on turbines was talked quite a bit in the What if thread. It's pretty much implausible to use turbines in such a manner. I think making top surfaces solar actually takes away from the idea of having room for bumps and bruises. I'd hate to see the cost of replacing special proprietary panels.

I'm all for the utility of a Swiss Army knife and the idea of passing on a vehicle to the next generation.

We didn't think about small nuclear reactors yet, though then I guess that'd be a Nuclear Hybrid and not a BEV. ?

I agree with the simplicity. A computer screen is unnecessary.

I’ll be the first to say I LOVE the Bollinger designs. That said-there not being built and I’m sure one of the reasons is they only appealed to 5% of buyers. The SUV world is a tough world. Over 50% of new vehicles are SUVs and the majority of sales are by/for women. My wife HATED the Bollinger. She said Schwarzenegger should drive it.
I think the new Scouts are a good mix. To my surprise my wife loves it. To me that says SM got it right

Simplicity is nice...but I love tech and I love screens....but simultaneously I love the feel of a good toggle switch and buttons.

I would love to see some real dials for one, and yeah a computer screen isn’t really something we need.
