Interior - hardwood option for hemp wood

  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

Good morning everyone, I’m new to the forum but wanted to give a suggestion. The interior design is beautiful. The piece that seems out of place is the hemp wood. I know it’s sustainable and maybe it’s just the pictures - but it looks like cheap plywood to me. I think a wood accent makes perfect sense with the design intent. I’d just rather see an American hardwood like black walnut instead. Hopefully there will be some options as the design progresses!

Welcome to the community! Last week we just got to see some off road accessories and a new wheel. I’m sure as time goes on we will be seeing new interior options as well. There’s lots of info on here and search will be your friend. If you can’t find something certainly ask and someone will help out. A great follow is @Jamie@ScoutMotors. He keeps us updated from the manufacturer side. Welcome again.

Welcome to the forum!
Having been at the reveal and seeing it up close it is beautiful but I get it may not be everyone’s cup of tea. I have noted on occasion I’d like to see the material with a warm gray finish as it is a bit “orange” to me if that makes sense. I’m always drawn to warm gray toned woods so while the hemp had a beautiful depth to it I can certainly understand where you are coming from. The traveller was done with the textured fabric/textile which I’ll assume might be an option as well

Maybe I missed the new accessories? What thread is that on?

This one. So this one has a bumper with a winch and a brush guard and the different wheels. Now that I think about it is a different bumper considered an accessory?

Right now we are being spoon fed the Scout build options. We just need to sit back and wait to see what offerings come. Multiple wood options have been discussed. Hardwoods could be offered.

I have no eye for design and I have issues with sensory overload.

I’d prefer a single, soft “cloth-like” interior that’s easy to clean. No accent threads, no chrome (too many reflections while driving), no wood, no piano black… Just all one color and one texture except for the controls, which should be different enough to be easy to see. Those door pictures show something like a dozen different colors, textures, and surfaces. That’s just too much for me—give me an all flat dark grey, soft interior. I know, I’m boring.

I can’t imagine they won’t have a black/dark grey interior. Every manufacturer has something like that it seems.

I am, however, the complete opposite. Having had all black interior for 12 years I’m ready for something different.

I just hope everyone gets what makes them happy.

Just as long as it isn't piano black. Worst interior design idea ever.

Great side by side. Looking forward to seeing more of the interior options in person
