Several articles I have read while generally glowing, include the statement “VW bought the Scout name” in some form. This is one of the common claims made by never-EV hater crowd. SM should put out a promo video explaining/ emphasizing the history from McCormick Harvesting Company to the merger that created International Harvester, the birth of the Light Line/Scout, the end and reorganization into Navistar International to the purchase of Navistar by Traton (VWAG).
There is sooo much American heritage in there - harvesters, tractors, big rigs, school buses, SCOUTS, success, struggle, rebirth and never giving up. It’s a great story. Take charge of it and tell it! Feeding a nation, transporting goods, taking children to school, that’s good stuff.
