  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

I debated whether or not to post this

You’re going to be Mr Popular asking Discount Tire to order track rubber, lol. But if you use Bobcat (or whoever) track loader parts for your modification you at least have off the shelf parts.

Traveler Ride Quality and NVH Expectations

Road noise is pretty easily dealt with using good insulation. Tire noise is definitely heard more with no engine masking it. Though I guess a good sound system helps, too:)

Cost and Ease to Repair/Maintain the Traveler and Terra

Well, humans. We can break anything, lol. My backpack caught my charge port door and I kinda ripped it half off. Duct taped it shut until mobile service came out to repair. I’m using Tesla as a proxy for this but mobile service can do a lot. But when a deer hit me and do-si-does it’s way...

How will the scouts handle the extreme cold?

Switching Harvester to All EV Model?

It would depend on range. 500 m full EV and, absolutely. I have 400 now, typically see around 375.

    UWB Digital Key

You’re spot on that background refresh and location services must be enabled for phone keys to work well. I love mine!

    Door lock keypad

Phone as key is my go to…especially if Scout app would also function on smart watches:) I’m also not a keypad fan. The credit card style backup is nice…fobs are so bulky!

Global EREV battery capacity deployment is growing six times faster than that of BEVs

Agree… 150 electric range won’t do a whole lot to pull up longer trip efficiency. But it’ll do fine for five days a week, lol.

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

I replace mine about every 80K miles. Current EV at 40K miles. I think some folks (gas more than EV) replace the 12V with the cheapest thing they can find at Autozone…not really looking at specs. Connections aren’t on tight and sometimes battery hold down isn’t put back in place. Modern cars...

I guess NADA hasn’t realized that everyone hates stealerships.

    Battery Life Cycle

Love hearing this is happening in multiple places!

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

Bloomberg Hyperdrive has an article about Scout vs Dealers. It gets sent as email so no link but here’s the text (visual has good summary of state laws): Clicking Your Way to an Electric Car When second-generation car dealer Marc White learned a new Volkswagen electric-vehicle line was set...

New Scout Video - Forging the Future Part 2: Interior Philosophy

That was super interesting…I love the interior…dual colors, etc.

    Scout Color Poll #1

I love the aquamarine. It’s not doing so hot in polling though, lol.

Fargo here…totally understand. Going to Ely or Lake Metigoshe in winter can be a nail biter!

    Driving Distance Poll

Not all Tesla SC can be used by other OEMs…only ones with Magic Dock. Also, Musk has gotten erratic. It wouldn’t surprise me if he decided other OEMs couldn’t use them…don’t know how the contract is written. The L2 NACS chargers at hotels, etc, aren’t owned by Tesla, no problem there. But...

    Driving Distance Poll

Lots of comments about only driving 30-40 miles a day in context of range. I’m curious as to how this group compares to the “average”… as example, I work from home three days a week, drive eight miles RT one day, and 160 miles one day (though the plant manager took pity and had the electrician...

    Battery Life Cycle

No idea on that, lol. It must be cheaper than a new one though.

    Carpet floor mats

I adore the Scout prototype interior! Carpet or similar mats keep down road noise…I do usually put a weather mat on top though to keep carpet cleanish, lol.
