  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

What are you driving until release?

    Welcome to the forum!

What kind of tech do you expect enabled in the car or interface?

I actually really like this idea. I still have all my music on CD and I was really glad when I bought my 2019 Tundra that it still had a CD player in it.

International Harvester Sierra Fall Rallye appearance?

@CP1@scoutmotors Do you know if the Scout concepts will be at the New York Auto Show in April?

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

Welcome to the forum! I believe it has been confirmed that the bench seat will be configured that way with the center section as a fold down armrest when not needed as a seat.

    Memories

Nice! I had my Scout II in high school and had a lot of fun and memories with my friends in it. Welcome to the forum!

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

Yeah, I thought there was something wrong with it too but I asked the company fleet manager about it and he said it's normal. They all do it. Sure enough, several other people in the company that got them at the same time are all having the exact same issue with them.

The company I work for gave me a new Prius Prime plug in hybrid a few months ago. The 12V battery goes dead if I don't drive the car every 3-4 days. Pretty much have to jump start it every time I drive it. 1,800 miles on the car. No, I didn't forget a zero.

Speculation Alert - possible Harvester Engine Choices

Probably gonna be a while until we know exactly what the range extender engine is going to be. Scout is currently advertising on their careers page for the engineer to design the range extender. https://job-boards.greenhouse.io/scoutmotors/jobs/4660460007

Are factory deliveries for reservation holders being considered?

Yes, which is why it is so critical to get a big groundswell of SC residents to call their legislators. It is the only thing that has any chance of breaking the stranglehold SCADA and the dealer lobby has on them. If they hear from enough constituents they can't continue to ignore the will of...

Are factory deliveries for reservation holders being considered?

The only way this becomes a reality is if the SC legislature feels enough pressure from their constituents to pass the bill H.3777 which seems unlikely this legislative session. That bill would change SC law to allow direct to consumer vehicle sales, which are currently prohibited. If you read...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

Sure. The numbers he gave me are based on full MSRP of $66,485 for the Wind trim level which is the lowest priced AWD trim. I haven't even started negotiating the cap cost down from MSRP yet because like I said, I'm trying to resist the urge. He gave me numbers of $690-$702 for a monthly payment...

Same. Back when I sold cars briefly in the early 2000s Kia was a low quality, cheap car that was kind of a joke. Over the last 20 years, they have really made a serious effort to improve their quality and reliability. Now they are making some legit nice cars. The EV9 is actually a really nice...

Welcome to the forum! Thanks for that very thorough list. Lots of good stuff there.

Interesting quote from NY Times - VW + Rivian + Scout

I think mostly accurate, but the way it's worded makes it sound like they just bought a turn key operation and can immediately start cranking out vehicles. They bought a company (Navistar) that included a brand (Scout) but they still have to build the new company from the ground up, and execute...

The boat tank on the passenger seat is the same one I used in my demolition derby cars many years ago. That setup you showed is next level! Love it!

Who else do we want to do a hands on review?

They also do good teardowns and talk about the nuts and bolts of the battery packs, motors, etc. They have some good ones on the Kia EV9.

    Scout Color Poll #1

Not to brag (well, maybe just a little) but I've got you beat. 12' X 12' door on my 30' X 60' garage. No worries about fitting the Scout in, even if I install a massive lift kit on it. In fact, I might have to reserve a few more Scouts to fill up the extra space in the garage.

Who else do we want to do a hands on review?

Derek from Vice Grip Garage would be great, but he's more of a drag a junkheap out of the weeds and get it running kind of guy. He does have a diesel scout that he got running and drove home on one episode of his show a few years ago.
