  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    aluminum body

Well by the time the Scout comes out I think I will be at the end of my extended Warranty so it would be probably time for me to move on and get a Scout
  2. T

    aluminum body

Exactly and the corrosion thing has been such an issue it had soured me towards getting another Wrangler
  3. T

    aluminum body

OK, if it ever becomes an issue, I’ll do that but mines a 2018 JL so it’s not that old yet so it’s not that much of an issue yet

    aluminum body

One of the big issues of why is Jeep for some reason does not paint where the hinges mount to either the doors or the hood so it’s just bare aluminum on steel if they just painted that part when they painted the rest of the hood, door, etc., that would help a lot to prevent it so I I think they...

    aluminum body

The doors are OK to open and close for me I haven’t had issues on that. It was just the seals. That went bad.
  6. T

    aluminum body

Yep I have extended warranty still and the seals are not covered
  7. T

    aluminum body

Actually, you don’t have to worry about me doing that because every time I take my doors or roof off my seals go bad about two weeks later I get leaks and it costs me $1000 to replace all the seals at the dealership. So I don’t take the roof or the doors off.

    aluminum body

The picture of the silver one isn’t mine but I had it fixed three times on different doors and the hood and it’s just started again and I’m out of warranty and and being nice to Jeep corporate to see if they would fix it for free so it is getting left unfixed for now💀

    aluminum body

I’m fine with aluminum or a steel body just don’t do half-and-half where you have steel hinges on aluminum doors for example because Jeep does that for the Wrangler and it causes the paint to bubble for the reaction of dissimilar metals and I have constantly had to have that fixed and it’s one...

Any Update on NADA and Our fight for DTC?

Tesla does that in Florida and it works well so if Scout can do the same they should be able to sell direct to consumer with no issues, though Florida dealers are likely going to try to sue anyway even though it’s probably very unlikely for them to win a lawsuit.

Cost and Ease to Repair/Maintain the Traveler and Terra

Yeah no, the winch sounds like a terrible idea, I came up with the idea access panel for service thinking of old vans/ trucks that have access panels to the engine from inside the cabin so doing something similar for harvester access seemed like a simple but good solution if the harvester is...

Cost and Ease to Repair/Maintain the Traveler and Terra

I think I mentioned it a while back in another thread, but I am hoping that changing the oil on the harvester range extender is not an engine out job and I suggested to maybe make a sealed flap under the trunk floor that is locked or can only open from inside in the traveler and under part of...

Make it run on low octane (aka cheaper gas)

Yes definitely, that is one of the reasons why I will not by a new Toyota Land Cruiser since it requires premium gas for some reason. I do not want to give up the ability to buy regular since I am used to it in my Wrangler V6

    Do an event in Miami

Maybe Scout should have a booth at the Miami Auto Show I would like that so I can finally see it in person

The Road to Scout Production - All the latest updates in one place...

Interior design on new Jeep, Wagoneer, Dodge, and Rams if you have been in a relatively recent one are good it is just everything else that is not good. I am just thinking of current Wrangler interior look wise is good just lack of options is bad but that is not up to the interior designer.

    Scout Color Poll #1

I would like to get this for my Wrangler also, but I am not in the mood to buy this and then spend $1200 at the dealer for them to fix the roof seals again since every time I remove the roof the seals start leaking 1-2 weeks after.

    Scout Color Poll #1

I would not get the Skyactive roof I just see it breaking and having leak issues. I already have enough on my hard top so much that I do not take the roof panels off anymore since I am out of factory warranty, and every time I have taken the top off the seals start to leak 1-2 weeks later and...

Scout concepts on Jay Leno’s Garage

When they mentioned the 5k towing with the Harvester he was talking about the Traveller, I don't think he meant for both so I would expect the Terra with the Harvester to have more towing then the Traveller with the Harvester. I think it needs to be clarified more in the future and it will...

What do you love or hate about other off-road vehicles

The main thing I do not like about my Wrangler is the ride and lack of steering feel/ drifting all over a lane. Though, Scout is already going to be better just from having independent suspension. Also, I do like to have the ability to work on the Jeep if I want to so if I wanted to change the...

    Potato Chip Flavors?

Probably Sweet and Spicy Chili Doritos for me, (the purple bag ones)
