  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

Cruise Control Following Distance (and other assists)

I"ve driven a few cars with smart cruise control with multiple settings for following distance. I did not like any of them. They tend to have three options. With each one, the shortest distance was way too close. There'd be no way to stop in time if the car in front of came to a sudden stop...

Do You Want Your Scout To Have A Hands-Free Driving System?

No, I don't want it to have hands free driving. The technology is not ready. Too many accidents, several of which are fatal. Too many people use driver assist to do what they should be doing as it is. I've several friends that have been hit by drivers that claim is wasn't their fault since the...

Do You Want Your Scout To Have A Hands-Free Driving System?

Things I've noticed, experienced, or have been told by others: With driver assists: A lot of drivers with it become reliant on instead of staying aware. if there's lots of road wash, or very foggy, white/silver/gray cars are invisible and will try and drive through them if you don't pay...

Do You Want Your Scout To Have A Hands-Free Driving System?

If the Scout has a self-driving feature AND I don't have to pay for it, sure. Otherwise, absolutely not! Too many people rely on safety warnings and don't actually check as it is without having another 'self-driving' to encourage those that would rather rely on technology that can't detect...

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

The backup camera view lines should turn with the steering wheel. Makes it much easier and safer when backing up to know where you are headed than just static lines that do not move.

What feature(s) do you hope that Scout does NOT include?

A backup camera that has lines that don't curve with turning the steering wheel. My truck backup lines turn and its great. The car doesn't and it's much harder to determine where the car will go. If they don't turn, why have them?

What feature(s) do you hope that Scout does NOT include?

'Sport decals'. They can peal off very easily, so have zero desire to have to spend money on. Had a salesman try to convince me to buy a vehicle with. I mentioned that you could peal them just by rubbing a thumb on. He did, and it did and started pealing it until after pulling it six inches...

What feature(s) do you hope that Scout does NOT include?

The problem with that is if you need to get something out of the car, then you have to shut it off each time instead of just closing the door.

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

Wireless phone chargers that can fit phones. I've seen wireless chargers in many cars that the phones can't fit in due to length being too short. Rear camera definitely. Front camera would improve safety. Side cameras for 360 viewing for when hauling things that block view for lane changes...

    Scout Color Poll #1

I like the dark green, dark blue and tossed a coin between the copper and orange. Though if I had to park in a large parking lot, the orange would come in very handy.

Do You Want Your Scout To Have A Hands-Free Driving System?

A definite no for hands free. I've been in several cars with. None of them are more reliable than a bad driver. Even driver assist is bad. Too many people get too reliant on and stop paying attention and just assume. If the system malfunctions, or doesn't understand the conditions correctly...

    Power plug covers

The image of the charging port area has a cover that flips up, but this still leaves the power outlets exposed to the elements. Water, sand, salt spray, etc... could get in. Suggest flush outlet covers, similar to home outlet safety covers, for all of the outlets for the exterior. Interior...

Make sure headlights meet or beat IIHS Top Safety Pick Plus testing standards.

Just no blue headlights. They burn out faster, cost a lot more and destroy other's night vision making it harder to see while driving.

Harvester - Request to allow it to charge battery while parked & a 30-40amp/240v outlet

A downside to CO detector shutting down the car is if you are running on gas and in a traffic jam with lots of cars. It could keep shutting the vehicle down.

Option for a Rugged/Waterproof Interior Trim

A durable and cleanable interior isn't just for adventuring. Farming, gardening, and working outside in most cases gets you dirt and transfers to the truck when you wish to go somewhere.
