  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    Camp mode

I would really like to see a rooftop tent for the Traveler like the Alu-Cab Icarus, where you can access the interior of the vehicle from the rooftop tent through the cabana roof, or push up the bed in the rooftop tent to be able to comfortable stand inside of the interior of the Traveler. This...

    Where are EV chargers needed

The last time I drove from the Carolinas to Michigan to visit my Dad, I stopped in New River Gorge National Park to do a random middle-of-the-trip hike. I was thinking how nice it would be to go for a 30-40 minute hike while my truck charges. My dog would love that too. It doesn't necessarily...

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

I had 33 inch tires on my old 80 series Land Cruiser, and then I bought a more built up and lifted Land Cruiser with 35 inch tires, and after driving it a thousand miles, I have been thinking about downsizing back to 33 inch tires. If you're a person who isn't rock crawling and driving on...

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

A "camp mode" like what Rivian has, preferably using the airbags to auto level the interior for sleeping. Rear seats that fold down flat for a comfortable sleeping area in the back. Also, accessory mesh screens so we can roll down the windows if sleeping in the back of the rig.

    Seating for 6?

I think that's if you get the optional front bench seat. I could be mistaken, but I believe you have to choose between the console and the sixth seat.

What are you driving until release?

A painfully practical Subaru Outback as my daily, a... less practical 1997 Toyota Land Cruiser for weekend fun. I would downsize to only one vehicle if I get the Traveler. With my front winch bumper and rear bumper swingouts, I think I'm juuuust about the same length as the Traveler with spare...

    Scout Color Poll #1

I'd like to see an option for the white roof to use the highly reflective cooling white paint developed by a professor at Purdue University: https://www.purdue.edu/newsroom/202...int-now-thinner-than-ever-ideal-for-vehicles/ Assuming of course that this kind of paint is commercially available...

    What did you reserve?

I reserved a fully electric Traveler. My most frequent trip is to the southeast Appalachian mountains, and the full electric range should be good to get me there and back on a full charge (though not sure how driving in the mountains will impact range). Also, I'm thinking that charging...
