  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

New Scout Video: Forging the Future - The Sound Of Scout

Where are you going to use these old and natural sounds? It makes sense in the lock/unlock noise - like Rivian does with the bird chirp. Assuming the sounds will be "inspired" by those elements rather than direct recordings? Very curious.

Is the EREV going to be a flop?

Its definitely possible because of my location (PNW). Going from Seattle to Minneapolis or Chicago is pretty rough. However, many of my road trips are also up and down the west coast. There's pretty good charging infrastructure there, maybe not as dense as the east coast, and its still painful...

Is the EREV going to be a flop?

If you're charging once during a road trip, then its not a long road trip and you don't really know what its like. Its a lot more complex then just stopping once to charge. Try a 4000+ km trip and get back to me. I also didn't say anything about all the other advantages of a BEV, I agree with...

Is the EREV going to be a flop?

Once you've owned an EV and tried to do a long road trip, you'll quickly realize the limitations of a BEV. On paper, the EREV addresses a lot of those issues: long charge times, multiple charge stops (300 miles per full battery is not 300 miles between charges), you have to stop on the batteries...

Actual delay official and order of deliveries confirmed?

Makes perfect sense why they are prioritizing the EREV trim. 87% of all their reservations are for the EREV. Why focus on the BEV to launch? Makes little sense to me to do that.

    Scout Traveler: Running Boards

They've already shown the prototypes with integrated running boards so they are thinking about it. Hopefully it makes it to market at launch.

    Harvester

Removeable? That's asking a lot. I just hope its efficient and works as advertised.

    Spare Tire, Backpack, or Bald?

I'd rather not carry around the spare tire for daily driving. Will reduce efficiency due to weight and it'd gotta be a drag on airflow. The backpack would definitely be more useful for daily use, even for putting groceries, bags or sports equipment. If/when I got off-roading, I'll just stick the...

    A Gift From Scout Motors

    Still haven't received mine.

    Carplay unconfirmed?!

CP/AA is not needed on the Scout. It'll be based off the Rivian platform which is great. CP/AA is only worthwhile on old or mediocre OEM systems. People who want this on a Tesla, Rivian or Scout are living in the past.

Help me decide BEV or EREV

If you don't road trip any significant distance or don't care about how long it takes you to get from point A to point B on said road trip, then the BEV is totally fine. I've done 1000+ mile road trips in my R1T and its painful to have to stop 4-5 times more than with a gas vehicle and each stop...

Concern about the complexity and cost of repairs/maintenance for EREV

One of my concerns with the EREV versions of the Terra/Traveler is the complexity of the system and obviously the cost of maintenance and repair. You'll have most of the components of an EV and an ICE vehicle all in one and they need to interact with each other. Id assume its still less parts...

Quick view and Q&A with VP of Strategy & Brand Ryan Decker - LA Auto Show

Nothing really new to report from the interview other than things remain on track for production, price and range specs. Very cool though to see some new wheels and accessories.

Is there anything SM could offer to get you to switch from EREV to BEV?

500 miles of range and/or at least 300 kW charging speeds

Scout Traveler Debuts in New Pacific Mist Color

I thought I loved the "burnt orange" but this is insanely slick color combo. Nice job Scout.

Scout Concepts in New York City September 18-19, 2025

Is it the same prototype we've been seeing on display with a new paint job or a different vehicle with the new color?

Former Rivian R1S owner, almost twice. Can’t wait for the Scout

Well, getting a lemon is more bad luck than anything else. Poor build quality is likely unavoidable for early builds + new manufacturer. Not sure how much expertise Scout is leveraging from VAG - getting the money for sure but they've talked it up as being an independent brand. Realistically...

Poll: Would you use a Scout configurator tool if pricing and details are not finalized yet?

Scout should absolutely do this so they can get some data on what customers want and help eliminate some options to simplify production.

What one thing would you like to see changed from concept to production?

The headlights and the wood/grain in the Traveler. They might look better in person but not a fan based on what I've seen in pictures and videos. A beefy, rugged vehicle with tiny headlights doesn't seem right to me. 240V on the Traveler - would be a strange omission between the two models. And...
