  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

FYI-- only the Overtrail models are two row. The other versions have a third row. The GX is 197.1 inches long with a 112.2 inch wheelbase.

There won't be a locking center differential. The front and rear motors aren't connected. A rear locker is supposed to be standard, with the front locker optional.

So true! A minor detail, but it is an inline 6, not a V6.

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

It's okay to keep some thoughts to yourself. A little self-editing is a good thing. I suspect there are many openings in your social calendar.

To be fair to Ford, the Escort GT was a Mazda platform with a Mazda engine (assuming you're talking about the 1.8).

Your tin foil hat isn't working. May I humbly suggest doubling the thickness?

If they can do it at a sub 30k price point, Slate is in trouble.

Clearly, we should be talking to your neighbor. In fact, I'm ready to elect them President of Trucks! Also, a "base" model doesn't have to mean completely stripped.

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

I brought this up the other day. It was actually $2,500. I had a 2019 Moss Green Golf R on order They cancelled my order after waiting for over 3 months. Then they kept the Spektrum option on the website for For a couple of months just to rub it in! Good times!

Interesting that you quote Consumer Reports (a very old CR article, BTW). Nobody sucks more AWD Subaru d@#k than Consumer Reports.

I can't blame VW for pausing with Cupra. They're just reading the room. Alpine did the same thing. They were going to enter the US market with EV's in 2027, but have decided to wait.

Jeeps, Land Cruisers, INEOS Grenadiers, G-Wagens, and Raptors aren't worthy then because they don't have manual locking hubs? Gotcha.

    Mechanical locking 4x4 over automatic

Hmm. Manual hubs are exposed to the elements and aren't foolproof either. Lack of maintenance and wear and tear affects everything over time, not just automatic locking hubs. There are segments of your post which seem like they are generated by AI.

    Traveler 2.0?

It would be cool if Scout offered a greater number of paint colors for an extra fee. VW's Spektrum program for the Golf R was 40 colors for $2,500. Porsche's Paint To Sample is over 150 colors, albeit for $11-13k.

Will Scout Work With Future 3rd Party Battery Retrofit/Replacement Companies? (Right to Repair)

I can't fault IONNA for having a lot of CCS chargers. The 8 car companies who fund IONNA all used CCS chargers in their cars until recently. They're serving their customers. They have the data and know which chargers at their locations are more popular. There's nothing to stop them from...

What feature(s) do you hope that Scout does NOT include?

The purpose of the Harvester running is to generate electricity. It shouldn't be running otherwise. There's no reason to include start-stop in an EREV. An EREV engine doesn't idle unnecessarily when stopped. Also, start-stop technology does increases MPG and reduce emissions, especially in...

    Scout! Hear me out!

It's hard to imagine that configuring the Scout platform for a front engine would be a quick or easy process. New axles and a transmission would be needed. The VW Group does have amazing engines, but they would likely come from the EU and be subject to high tariffs. I have no objections to...

It's nice to dream big. Some custom swag or a gift certificate to the Scout merchandise store is probably more realistic.
