  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    Bigger frunk

I also know, for certain, that the Mustang Mach-E frunk is smaller than one Standard SpaceEVDriver. I haven’t measured any other frunks.

    Bigger frunk

    You mentioned a downside?
  3. SpaceEVDriver

    Bigger frunk

I did. I had a job running, so could step away from the computer for a few minutes. :)

    Bigger frunk

A fully-grown adult (me) climbing into the Lightning’s frunk. I realized after the latch closed that I usually have my phone with me so I can open the frunk with it if I can’t find the emergency release button. It all worked out okay this time. Please forgive the several seconds it took for me...

We own EVs. Ask Us Anything.

We never investigated the power sharing EVSEs because we have never had a two car garage. The workshop is where I park the Lightning, but it’s not attached to the house. The Mustang is parked in the attached garage.

Charge port at front, passenger side

Thanks. In that location, the filler tube can be either front right or front left and not be too big of an issue. The 20-ish gallon statement was for the full volume of the exterior of the tank, its mounting hardware, and clearances. The interior volume may be 15 gallons, but it will take up...

    Bigger frunk

I find that we never once wondered if sitting in the frunk would be better with a sliding seat tray. We’ve always just sat in the frunk to watch the sunset. That said, I have considered installing a sliding kitchen tray in the frunk to expand the use of the frunk kitchen we have while camping...

    Bigger frunk

I’m noticing an issue that I hope is not going to be on the production Scouts. They have the water seal on the frunk lid. That doesn’t protect against water infiltration into the frunk nearly as much as a raised lip does. Notice the smooth surface around the frunk? And notice the rubber...

Scout Terra Debuts in New Silo Color and Retheme

I’m chosing to believe @CP1@scoutmotors rather than what I think I might be seeing in the photos. It’s not actually an issue for me. I don’t do bull bars, so that accessory isn’t one I would purchase even if it did allow the frunk slide to function.

    Bigger frunk

I know for a fact that the Lightning frunk can hold my 6-1”, 220 230 pound body. With lots of space to spare, with the lid closed.
  12. SpaceEVDriver

    Bigger frunk

There are size comparison graphics around this site. The size of the front bumper-to-door of the Scout Terra looks to be nearly the same as that dimension of the Lightning. Assuming that, the dimensions of the frunk are likely to be very similar. Some photos make it look like the Scout frunk...

    Great. The images are confusing.

Scout Terra Debuts in New Silo Color and Retheme

Based on comparisons with the Traveler photos @cyure took at Nationals and the front-ish photo in the OP of this thread, the bull bar will block the sliding part of the frunk. This isn’t the first time a concept appearance item on a new vehicle wasn’t going to work in practice. I’m willing to...

    Higher Range

And we are fairly certain the Harvester will have a different battery, which means there ought to be two battery options for the BEV as well. There’s no compelling reason not to offer the battery that comes in the Harvester as an option in the BEV. The question is whether they can fit a bigger...

Scout Terra Debuts in New Silo Color and Retheme

The latest reveals and photos are ALL ABOUT opinion. Even the semi-objective comments about things like tires and steps are simply about options, not about required parts.
  17. SpaceEVDriver

    Higher Range

I think the difference is many of the suggestions we see are “give it more range or it will fail” There’s rarely a suggestion of, “offer a longer-range option.” There’s minimal development cost to offer a couple of extra battery options. Having a 350 range standard option, a lower cost option...

Charge port at front, passenger side

Do we know where the fuel tank is going to be located? The Harvester engine, as far as we’ve heard, is going to be over/behind the rear axle. The fuel tank has to take up 20-ish gallons of volume, but it’s not clear where it will be. If they keep the frunk in the Harvester, then the fuel tank...

    Community events?

Ha! I know you can’t bring a non-Raptor vehicle to participate in the activities. They may be so stringent that you can’t even get in without a Raptor. So, clearly, Scout needs to slap some Raptor stuff on the outside of their vehicles to get in and show Ford what’s what.

We own EVs. Ask Us Anything.

There’s a great review and discussion site called State of Charge with Tom Moloughney. Tom also has a youtube channel where he discusses many things charging. Not to say I and others won’t continue answering questions. It’s just that Tom does a fantastic job and has been focused on this topic...
