  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    Harvester Talk: Q&A

Not sure if this has been posted in this thread already or not. I'm not inclined to go back and read all the posts. However, there are Chinese companies already using range extending motors (generators) on their SUV's. Li Motors and their L9. It is as small, 3 row SUV vehicle. These ranges...

    Diesel Range Extender option please.

There are couple Chinese made cars with range extender motors already out or coming soon. They are gas motors. These ranges sound CRAZY high to me but maybe something is confused in translation? https://topelectricsuv.com/first-look-review/li-auto-l9-hybrid/ "The Li L9 is outfitted with a...

Speculation Alert - possible Harvester Engine Choices

I'm not opposed to this. Check my avatar. ;) In fact I have both a 1972 Porsche 2.2 and a 1977 2.7 engine blocks stashed in South Carolina. Hit me up Scout team if you need some pieces to work with.

Are factory deliveries for reservation holders being considered?

I will add that I will definitely be interested in the factory delivery process.

Are factory deliveries for reservation holders being considered?

Meh, looks kinda chill and inviting. Can you guys add in some stark blue-white fluorescent tube lights, dirty linoleum floor and raggedy-ass chairs around a metal desk? Maybe add a couple dudes with greased back hair and fake smiles? You know, make it more car "dealership-y". :)

Payload and towing with harvester range extender on a Traveler

Integrated would be ideal. I had to adda controller to my diesel Porsche Cayenne. I swear it had the shortest pigtail ever installed by a car manufacturer. LOL. Went with a hardwired Redarc controller. Worked out OK.

Payload and towing with harvester range extender on a Traveler

OK, I thought maybe you had read something already about a weird/non-standard hitch plans. So it seems like the hitch option is TBD right now. Others here are speculating it will be an option at build time. It is now for a lot of trucks/SUV's already today so that seems likely. Would Scout...

Payload and towing with harvester range extender on a Traveler

The Terra is projected at 10k and the Traveler at 7k tow capacities. Not following you on your comment about the hitch compatability.

    See Traveler colors

A white top matching the Rally graphics color might look REALLY cool. ;)

    Gas Powered Range Extender

IMHO, this video is a pretty good guess on which engine and how it will be deployed. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="" title="YouTube video player" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share"...

As a Rivian Refugee I Found This Article Interesting

BACKGROUND: I am not a Rivian "hater", but I am a "refugee" in the sense that I was once very much on "Team Rivian". In fact, I am still a Rivian shareholder (but probably not for much longer). BUT... my reservation experience with them was an utter debacle. I took over 3 years to get an...

    Decoding Reservation Numbers

That is EXACTLY what I expect the subversive forces among us to say. :alien::alien::alien:?;)

    Decoding Reservation Numbers

Sooooo....I re-watched the reveal videos again. It made me do a thing. ;) I now hold a reservation for a Terra + Harvester now too. Suck it Rivian! ? Guess what? My later Terra reservation has a LOWER number than my Traveler, but they BOTH start with a "2". 20978299zz 10:00 PM ET 10/25/24

    What did you reserve?

Watched the videos again. You can add Terra + Harvester to go along with my Traveler + Harvester reservation. LOL

    Welcome and Introductions!

Yeah, screw Rivian. Just reserved a Terra w/Harvester option as well. ?

    Decoding Reservation Numbers

Traveler Harvester at 5:24 PM ET today (10/25/24). EDIT: I will make a suggestion. Please add your general location in your posts. That might be part of the sequencing. I am in central North Carolina and SC some of the time too. EDIT II: I see I am a lower number than many, despite...

Payload and towing with harvester range extender on a Traveler

Same. I want to be able to tow with my Traveler/Harvester. I have an 18' Featherlight with a smaller track car I tow with an SUV now. Probably 3200 lbs all in. If I could get a range of 250 to 275 miles with my Traveler/ Harvester rig towing that I'd be fairly happy.

    What did you reserve?

    Traveler + Gas range extender

    Welcome and Introductions!

Gas+electric Traveler reserved today. I am a refugee from the Rivian process. Such a long sad, frustrating story for me with Rivian. I literally grew up with people that work at Rivian today. Got a very early reservation. Proceeded to watch literally everyone else in the country get their...
