  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    Custom External Sounds

Make it sound like a DT466. Problem solved. (I believe federal regs require some type of sound at low speed for safety.)

As we get closer to launch. Feature Requests & Real‑World Feedback for Scout

I would be pleased with all those things you suggested as well.

As we get closer to launch. Feature Requests & Real‑World Feedback for Scout

It has to at least have a painted frame. I am really hoping for Audi/VW build quality on these things.

As we get closer to launch. Feature Requests & Real‑World Feedback for Scout

West coast style tow mirrors and a “salt and stones” package that includes factory undercoating (NHOU/Fluid Film or even something better) for all of us up north so these things don't rot into the ground after five years and factory ppf for the hood, door cups, and mirrors. I will pay extra for...

Is there anything SM could offer to get you to switch from EREV to BEV?

I just switched mine from harvester to BEV. I am tired of the 24-hr news cycle constantly hammering any type of progress against climate change as futile. If Scout over delivers on range I will be thrilled. I still dont like “banning” combustion vehicles and I am glad Scout offers another option...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

I just want to say I appreciate your diligence on the matter of PBY. Maybe I should employ similar tactics for tow mirrors.

    Center Screen

I am glad it isnt any bigger. Too many huge screens in our lives. There are other offerings if that is what you are looking for.

Help me decide BEV or EREV

I reserved a Harvester for towing. But that was two years ago and now I am not sure I am committed as I was. I want to be able to tow my tractor to and from my woodlot and I would need a pretty decent towing capacity and range so that I could make multiple trips. That will influence my choice...

    Scout Color Poll #1

    “Convenient no haggle pricing”

    Scout Color Poll #1

Reason #500 I want Scout to stay the course on the direct to consumer sales fight. I never want to work with a dealer ever again. I cannot even imagine the markup.

    Scout Color Poll #1

This was the situation at the local Audi dealer. Audi does offer pigmented paint but you wouldn't know it. This is the new car inventory. I agree the black white and grey has to stop. Make those buyers wrap their rigs.

Do You Want Your Scout To Have A Hands-Free Driving System?

That’s really my point. Its a huge investment in capital and I dont think they are really losing out if it doesnt have it. If you want to make these things affordable that really isnt an essential feature for 90% of people. If you want to sell these things they need to be affordable. I love...

Consumer Freedom and Scout Motors in South Carolina

Keep up the fight. One of my biggest draws in reserving this vehicle is not having to deal with a dealership. I would rather deal with Scout directly and not have to suffer a service or sales manager ever again, let alone a unknowledgeable service writer.

Do You Want Your Scout To Have A Hands-Free Driving System?

No and I’d rather not subsidize the r&d for it given that it has very little value added relative to price.

Package options - what would you like bundled?

I am going to add my vote for a la carte ordering even though I know its not likely to happen. I would suggest keeping the bundles small so that I dont have to order a $6k premium package with self driving and cameras and all that just to get a sunroof. Go back to basics. Cold weather package...

    Harvester towing

Same. I reserved the Harvester because I want to use this vehicle for truck things and with the Ramcharger advertising 14k towing, Rivian over 10k depending on configuration (even though its a BEV), Scout would be starting behind the eight ball sort to speak if that was the case. I would have...

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

Yes to all of this. I dont understand the "No key" thing. I want to tell it when to turn on and when to turn off. I do not want to rely on a cell phone for EVERY aspect of my life. I also want mechanical door latches for the same reason with the added benefit that I wont die in a fiery death...

Option to delete the glass / cabana roof

What would be really nice is instead of "bundling" options in packages we could select individual options we want when ordering. What is most infuriating to me is that when you go to price out a vehicle if you want tow mirrors, a sunroof, and heated seats you need a $9k "package" to get those...
