  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

    R2 Launch Watch

I was originally looking at the Grey but I don't think it's on the table anymore with these issues. Gotta look at it under 20 different lighting settings to make sure everything matches. Assuming I make the move.

    Carplay unconfirmed?!

This isn't 100% what you're looking for, but with CarPlay (and I'd assume AA) Carrot will pull up the radar for you in-app. We used it on our most recent road trip since we were skirting around some pretty wild thunderstorms and were trying to figure out if/when it made sense to make a pit stop...

    Carplay unconfirmed?!

You should try it out! Waze will (usually) give those notifications even if you aren't actively using the Nav and just have the map up. And if you spot something you can just press 2 buttons to report it or use your voice.

    Carplay unconfirmed?!

That's how our Volvo was until last year when they finally added the Waze integration over to the cluster. It only shows the "notifications" on the infotainment, but it will add the blue pulse/icon on the road when something's coming up on the cluster which is super helpful. Watch out for the...

Our old Subaru Ascent (first one off the lot where we lived!) had the captains chairs. I go back and forth if I like that (2/3) vs the Volvo (3/2). The nice thing about having three seats in the middle row is its a barrier to keep the dogs from roaming lol.

    Carplay unconfirmed?!

I agree with you 100%. That being said, the dozen other user-inputted "real time" notifications it provides are worth their weight in gold!

    Carplay unconfirmed?!

I'd also just like to say that no matter how good your manufacturer developed navigation is, Waze is probably better.

    Carplay unconfirmed?!

This is exactly how I feel about it. I use CarPlay for Waze, Spotify, and Calling/Texting (I will also do Teams calls occasionally but I can also just dial in to those). If those are integrated into my Scout, I don't need CarPlay. And I personally don't feel like "stream over a bluetooth...

Not Lancaster specifically but there was a house for sale many years back right on 76, which was already starting its expansion project (it wouldn't hit that area for a few years). Was only a few years until they were forced to move and I doubt they got their money back from the state. That...

If theres one thing I know about American Truck Enthusiasts, its that they will definitely jump ship to own a Volkswagen Truck. 💀

    Carplay unconfirmed?!

Totally agree on the Rivian side. Is CarPlay/AA needed? No. Is the Rivian platform missing the ability to access a number of key features that you get with CarPlay/AA? Yes. Can Rivian address this gap? Yes. Will they? Who knows.

I've said it before but I think Slate has high opportunity in a job truck segment. Thinking about the trucks they drive around on college campus or corporate campuses for odd jobs, short range travel landscapers etc. If you're driving across campus with crap in the back for a maintenance...

I'm only marketing adjacent, but I would have stuck with the number thing. E50 would be pretty cool, or ditch the "50" part for a different number that pulls specifically on EVs moving forward as they build out, eg any car that ends with an "30" or whatever is an EV (F130, F230), although having...

    R2 Launch Watch

That's interesting because we've had the opposite experience, although we'll usually go a bit "out of the way" to hit one so maybe its just pure luck. Grocery stores are hit or miss, I know doing the Philly->VB route I've talked about here the food lions are all over the place and not great!
