  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

Scout Concepts At LA Auto Show, November 21-30, 2025

Actually, the real leather broke down well before the fake leather on my seats. I like the new car smell with real leather but for the look and endurance, I would prefer all fake and not a mix.

Scout Concepts At LA Auto Show, November 21-30, 2025

I did not realize that my Toyota with "leather" interior, is actually a blend of leather and vinyl. I found this out when replacing the leather seat covers in the front. The middle of the seats are leather, however the sides are faux leather. It can be difficult to tell. Often vehicles with so...

Don't let the Scout become a status symbol; why $60k misses the point of the Revival

I believe many of the reservations are based on "vanity and emotions" and not on facts since much of that data is unknown for the Scouts at this time. My personal reasons for reserving a Scout was from growing up with 2 Scouts. The first was my dad's Scout 800 that I ended up driving for many...

Consumer Freedom and Scout Motors in South Carolina

I have to stir this pot from time to time. The link to the article below is a little old but when searching the forum, I didn't find it documented anywhere. Whether you intend to buy a Scout, another EV or even an ICE vehicle, these franchise laws are driving car prices up. Scout submission to...

October 2025 Scout Motors Production Center Update

Found it... posted here back in April. I wonder if it is still there since @Jamie@ScoutMotors said for a limited time. It's off season for the Fireflies, so I am guessing not. https://community.scoutmotors.com/threads/scout-connection-center-columbia-south-carolina.2368/post-30214

Where & When Can i see a Scout in Michigan?

I think you are on to something. I was driving south on I-75 a couple of years ago and came up on a serious traffic jam near Perry, GA. I assumed there was a huge wreck. As we approached the source of congestion, I realized we had come up on the Georgia State Fair. Off of I-75 there was the huge...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

After renting a BEV, for everyday driving my V8 ICE is irritating. Having to "start" the engine, accelerating, engine revving, gear changing and that initial hesitation. Really? I can see why those with EVs don't go back.

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

After only one experience driving an automatic Start/Stop, 50% fuel savings wouldn't convince me to buy one. It is just irritating. Granted, I don't rack up much mileage annually. As for the fuel efficiency regulations, my opinion is that Americans do love the gas guzzlers and will buy them. I...

    What age group are you?

For a while there, I thought I was the oldest. Now I know I am in good company.

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

One thing to consider, putting a spare under is susceptible to wheel corrosion. The streets in my area aren't salted often, however, my full sized spare underneath my SUV collected enough to cause severe corrosion to the cast aluminum wheel (setting/sealing the spare tire). Even with regular...

October 2025 Scout Motors Production Center Update

Scout Motors showcased its prototype vehicles, the Traveler SUV and Terra truck, at Williams-Brice Stadium for the University of South Carolina football game on November 16, 2024. Sadly, I have missed several somewhat local showings. I would love to go to the Connection Center and sit there...

    What age group are you?

Maybe I'm an exception? But not sure of that generalization. I did expect to see higher numbers in the oldest group for those of us the grew up with the original Scouts.

October 2025 Scout Motors Production Center Update

@Jamie@ScoutMotors is Scout Connection Center Columbia South Carolina open to public? I realize the Scout pictured is a design buck, but I'm around Columbia occasionally and would love to see it.

October 2025 Scout Motors Production Center Update

I would have to take a hard pass before buying or taking my Scout to a dealership for maintenance in South Carolina. But being reasonably close to Blythewood has a lot to do with that.

Current EV owners…are you staying BEV or switching to Harvester?

I think you nailed my use case. I did switch to BEV from Harvester based on being educated in this forum and renting an Ioniq 5 for a week in Arizona. I never had driven an EV before and that sold me. I still want an Ioniq 5 to knock around in while I wait on my Scout. Since renting the Ioniq...

    FB find of the day

Calm and relaxing. I set it to just stream full screen while I'm not on the computer. Oddly though, it reminds me of the old classic screensaver...Johnny Castaway! :ROFLMAO: Just an isolated place with little going on.
