  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

Independent Suspension vs Solid Rear Axle??

When you're right, you're right! If the direct to customer sales experience works out, there's a good chance 2 new Scouts would happen. We stopped Hyundai dealership a few weeks ago to look at their EV's. We took a ride in an Ioniq 9. My wife really liked it, but while the dealer wasn't bad it...

Independent Suspension vs Solid Rear Axle??

With all the back and forth about "do I get the Traveler or the Terra" and "Harvester or BEV", can you imagine what future choices will bring? I've already switched from Harvester to BEV Traveler and now secretly (shhhh.... Be very quiet) thinking I'll add a Terra reservation for my wife...

    Google Gemini AI Scout Images

If SM offers a 2 door, I hope it takes on cues from the 80/800, setting it apart from the current Terra and Traveler. The 80/800 Scouts just seem proper with 2 doors. I am confident the SM design team could do amazing stuff going that way.

After reading the previous posts with attempts to get a 2-door Scout, I had an idea that the AI was literally counting 2 doors on one side. I thought I would attempt without including an attached image that might also influence the render. I believe that's why I got a Bronc-it. Here's the cues...

    EREV initial release only?

I rented an Ioniq 5 for a week from Turo. It was an eye opener for me and firmly set my change from Harvester to BEV. For me, that was my first EV experience. I'm not sure if that is what you're looking for or if you're thinking something more off road capable or heavy duty EV.

    Seattle Scouts

I strongly believe that everyone intending on purchasing a vehicle in the future that this will matter. These state franchise laws are outdated and are in place to protect the dealerships. I get that, but car dealers near me are not financially struggling and typically the owners own several...

Received the following picture from my uncle, what year?

So @Colton_Scout80, the original poster's photo I am guessing is a Scout 80? Can you determine a year?

Received the following picture from my uncle, what year?

This looks identical to my dad's Scout except Dad's had a grill guard. I have posted photos before somewhere on this forum. Looking at the back window tells me this is a small cab pickup. I was thinking his was a Scout 800 but I'll have to research it more. The wipers were vacuum operated and...

Scout Traveler Debuts in New Pacific Mist Color

The Scout designers and engineers are obviously very talented so maybe in the next two years they can develop a Scout chameleon skin that the color can be selected on screen and change dynamically. Then depending on your mood, you could select Tahitian Red, Pacific Blue Mist and hmmm... there...
