  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

Rear window shades independent from glass window

It would be great to have built-in rear-window shades (non-automated is fine). Furthermore, I live in Phoenix with a dog and one unfortunate part of summer is my rear window has to stay rolled up because of the heat and my dog can't stick her head out the window (sad!); same goes for winter in...

From a Tesla and Lightning Owner: Here’s What I Need to See from Scout

The point I was at least making is I'd rather have a dead car than a dead dog. That's the assumption any reasonable person would make who hasn't sat down and read every bullet point of the manual. Let's not punish my ignorance of the manual with a dead pet, please.

From a Tesla and Lightning Owner: Here’s What I Need to See from Scout

Model Y owner here. I went grocery shopping and enabled dog mode at 21% battery in hot Phoenix. I was shocked when I returned to my car and dog mode had disabled automatically because of low battery. Luckily my grocery trip was quick.

Software Request: Traffic Jam w/ Autosteer - Keep it Smooth

When I'm in a bumper-to-bumper traffic jam in my Model Y and using Autosteer (non-FSD), it overall does pretty well. But I do wish the car's movements were smoother. If in bumper-to-bumper and the person in front of me quickly accelerates then so does my Tesla, unfortunately. I'd love if...

Safety Feature (Software): Child/Pet Left alone detection

I love Pet Mode in my Tesal Model Y, but it doesn't have "Child left alone detection" (it seems only Model 3 does). And I only saw one small mention on the forums here so I wanted to make a quick thread about it. Please implement this safety feature which is basically: Motion...

    Integrated water storage

When I take my 5 gallon water jug camping, it takes up valuable cab or trunk space. Terra suggestion: Could we have an option for integrated water storage that could hold 3-5 gallons? Perhaps in a removable container that can be cleaned. Maybe there is unused space that a container could fit in...
