  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

Design it to last 20 years

I sort of agree and I love my Toyotas too. I have a 50yr old FJ40 that still runs and drives. It is very simplistic and functional which is a great thing in terms of lasting and quality and what not. I suppose old things like radio, upholstery, bunch of other things, have been replaced along...

Design it to last 20 years

Excuse my ignorance, but how do you take care of the batteries? Is there certain maintenance to do for this over time?

New Traveler Color Concept - Satin White Traveler

Thanks Jaime for those pictures. It's just enough to keep a guy hanging in there. Please more of these updates, I need them to keep the excitement going until they start coming off the line. can't wait.

Design it to last 20 years

One thing I totally agree with is the ability to replace portions of the batteries as they degrade. It doesn't make sense to have the need to pull/replace the entire thing when it is a few bad cells in the system that if replaced would make the vehicle last much longer, and more important...

We own EVs. Ask Us Anything.

Yeah I realize it's such a loaded question due to like you guys said, all the different variables. I'm mostly trying to get an idea and set expectations at this point, so all the information you guys have given thus far is very helpful and I appreciate it. Thanks.

We own EVs. Ask Us Anything.

I've looked through several of the pages but admittedly not all, so if this question was asked already, I apologize. What would you say is the added cost to your electric bill, in dollars, percent, or however you can best describe? Obviously this is a loaded question and dependent on lots of...

Modesto Scouts | Colton’s Scout Collection & Updates

I love the little Piggy in the collection there ;)

We own EVs. Ask Us Anything.

This is probably a dumb question, and has probably been answered before in this or other posts, but I'm a newb to EVs. It seems logical, but is the range effected by how fast you drive, and how long you drive at fast speeds? Say travelling at 80mph on a road trip, does that take the range down...

    Battleborn Binders (Reno Nevada)

Haha yeah they're really cool old nostalgic functional vehicles. They ride like a luxury tractor though, so I'm sure this thing would feel totally modern compared to the FJ40.

I don't have any Scouts, I've been in the Toyota Landcruiser community for some time now as I have a 76 FJ40 Landcruiser. That being said, I'm looking forward to this new Scout Traveler, and it will be a cool new experience from that old Toyota. Located in Sparks.
