We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

    Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

    How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

    Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

    Yes, it happens when it's not in direct sun or in direct sun. Often have to take it off and hold it upto an A/C vent.

    You sit down in the car. Set your low charged phone on the Mag charging pad. With in about 5min. There is a notification the phone is overheating and will go into safe mode.

    Update: on our first EV road trip, to SoCal from San José Ca we had this happen three time to Apple and Samsung phones. Not only was the phone extremely hot, so was the mag charging rubberized pad. One instance was at night when the cabin was cooler than normal. This IONIQ5 has cooling seats...

I believe, and many other agree that having a giant iPad or touchscreen in front of you, instead of buttons is a huge safety hazard while driving ask any person X generation or older, you need to be able to put your arm out, touch and feel...

I understand if you go to another country and you are trying to update the maps overseas, and we need to change the language. But I want time charge should be sufficient. Also...

    The thought is, while the phone is charging in its little seated cradle that the pad it is sitting on, would keep it cool. Not just ventilated, but cool it down. Because the mag charger in combination with sun will overheat a device. We've now dealt with this on a few occasions.

    Heads-up display with navigation. As I'm driving my wife's '25 ionic 5 while she's out of town. I'm finding this to be a very helpful feature.

    At LEASTED standard heated seat and lumbar. Vented and cooled would be a great option if possible.

    One thing we came across recently as we had an early heatwave in Silicon Valley. A phone cooler while the phone is in the charger would be amazing, new to the industry.
