  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

    Moore’s Law

I doubt any improvements will be made that have any chance of delaying the launch. All efforts should be on the current build. Otherwise there is a big risk of never having a product. Imagine if no one released a computer because so busy with improving the chips to double the capacity.

PLEASE DO NOT DO AN EXCLUSIVE DEAL WITH STARLINK - NO MUSK

If starlink was built-in standard I might subscribe. Plenty of others may avoid the vehicle brand for the association. Plenty of vandalism stories related to Tesla vehicles. I am Ok with wifi only.

🚨 **Is the New Scout Shaking Up the Off-Road World?** 🚨

The world will not really shake before the first 1,000 Scouts roll. Yes I agree on just basic tech. Like automatic headlights.

    Rear AC in the roof

Not sure how many of us made it through childhood. We rolled the windows down. "rolled" means we actually used a hand crank.

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

I liked the bench seat on my 1965 Coronet. Flat and smooth across like a living room sofa. My 2001 F150 has a front bench comprised of two semi buckets and a raised center seat. Not my favorite. :( I would probably option two front buckets in the Scout over a bench.

Thinking of a looooong road trip as an intro:

On a long road trip I would be planning one charge per day. So about 150% of range and then get a motel... hopefully with overnight charging.

    Transfer Case

If there is a ordering box for optional manual locking hubs on both axles.... I will be taking that option. +1 for optional geared limited slip differentials front and rear.

Bigger Gas Tank - 15 Gallons is Abysmal

I plan to have just battery. For those that need more than 15 gallons of gasoline I see plenty of off road jeeps etc with jerry cans. Even the Scout spare tire holder seems to have one attached.

What is one feature you hope Scout will include that has not yet been shown?

Yes if it has to be on screen I would expect options to show up automatically when in range. Need three buttons. Two garages and a gate. If it is digital there should be more to be enabled possibly at different locations such as work or second home.

    Camping with a Traveler/Terra

Camping? My plan would be to trade my truck/trailer for a MH to pull the Scout. The Scout would be the day use vehicle.

Interesting Offroad Behavior of a Lightning

I assume going down there is regenerative braking that induces a back rotation that spun the wheel as it lost traction. Interesting observation for sure.

The Garage (What did you work on today?)

Fixing electrical around the house today. Eight outlets reverse polarity. Two 20a breakers were feeding a lighting circuit. Most breakers mis labeled. Identified multiple circuits abandoned, as in connected to nothing. Next up will be replacing the rest of the switches and outlets. Upcoming...

The One-Ton Problem with Scout’s Harvester Range Extender

I understand this completely. I still stand by the 10K will deplete the battery. Time will tell.

    E-brake

EVs do tend to be totaled in a significant event due to unknown battery condition.

    E-brake

My LEAF, RAV4-EV and I-Pace have (had) an electric actuated parking brake. I believe only the LEAF had a pawl. RAV4-EV has a Tesla drivetrain which has no pawl.

The One-Ton Problem with Scout’s Harvester Range Extender

^^^^^ I agree and the compromise seems to be 5000 pounds. I frequently pull 8,000 with a 260hp F150 and 12% grade is 20 mph full throttle in low gear. I could use an electric boost at times

The One-Ton Problem with Scout’s Harvester Range Extender

Not just weight matters. A low profile pop-up or Trail Manor style trailer will be significantly better than a full profile.

The One-Ton Problem with Scout’s Harvester Range Extender

Yes and the generator cannot provide the full power requirements of towing 10,000 pounds. The charge level of the battery will drop as the vehicle is driven. At some point the battery will be depleted and the vehicle is powered by the generator alone. The vehicle will then be limited to a...

The One-Ton Problem with Scout’s Harvester Range Extender

Ultimately the small gasoline engine alone would need to pull what is being towed. Need a V8 or turbo4 to pull 10,000
