  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

Realistic EV Range Degradation and Prediction?

I'm sure it's buried in the fine print somewhere but is there a "rule of thumb" that says something like, "for every degree drop in temperature you should expect x% degradation in range "? I realize it's not that simple but would be curious if there is something directional that exists? Until...

Cargo Space - lessons learned by way of VW Atlas

I was on a camping trip with another family over labor day weekend and our friends had a VW Atlas. When time came to load up I was astonished (and that is an understatement) at how much more room that vehicle had than my Grand Cherokee, or any other SUV I've seen in the midsize class for that...

    No Spare Tire on Tailgate!

I know I have mentioned this before but I saw an example this morning that reminded me of why Scout should not put the spare tire on the rear tailgate.... I was behind a new Land Rover Defender this morning that had a trailer hitch-style bike rack. The LR had its spare tire mounted to the rear...

    Scout EV and Tax Credits

I do not yet own an EV (the Scout will be my first) so was unaware of how the federal EV tax credit works until I came across this article: https://www.cnn.com/2023/08/20/cars/electric-cars-sales-gas-cars-dg/index.html The article suggests that only ~18% of EVs sold in the US qualify for the...

    Included DVR

I also do not use a dash camera but am always fascinated by the luck people have had with respect to capturing events, accidents, etc. on their cameras. It would be cool to have a dash camera included with a DVR. I suppose you never know what you might capture with something like that and what...

    Does Scout own Scouts??

I have really enjoyed being part of this forum and love sharing my joy and passion for this project with so many Scout enthusiasts. As we all continue to contribute our thoughts and ideas, there are a few questions that have been nagging me. I am asking the questions below purely out of...

A Bronco Mistake I Hope Scout Doesn't Make

Another design consideration I wanted to throw out there. Sorry a few of these have been somewhat piece meal.... I feel like Ford missed the mark when designing the new Bronco's hard top. When you look at a Bronco from behind the hard top looks too skinny for the width of the body. Similar to...

    Ammeter!! How could I forget??

People may want to ban me from this site after reading this but I can't resist.... If you've read some of my comments you'll know I lean more toward being a purist and am in favor of a more traditional, nostalgic version of the Scout. I realize this vehicle is entering a new phase in the...

    Merch in the future?

@Jamie@ScoutMotors sorry if I missed a post on this, but any word on when swag (t-shits, stickers, etc.) may be available to help with the momentum building?
