  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    Cabin Pre-conditioning while out "adventuring"?

I know that Cabin pre-heating/cooling is a thing that many EV owners use, when they have a consistent schedule (ie, I leave for work every morning at 8am, make sure the car is 70f). This is based on that, but different. Here is what I'm envisioning, roughly. "I expect to be back to the vehicle...

Make Sure Traveler is drivable with tailgate/liftgate open.

Random thought occurred to me while talking with a friend. And this is more of a "lets make sure this works this way" sort of post. I'm a long time SUV owner. And importantly, an SUV owner who hasn't owned a truck. Which means that I've used my SUV as a psuedo-truck many times. My 1997 Jeep...

    12v Battery: Not an afterthought

Random thought (prompted by @Scoutsie ). Sadly, the 12v battery is something of an afterthought for many EV's. Often leading to them being buried somewhere random/hard to access. And it failing can often be a big pain in the butt. You often can't even get into the vehicle, it might not drive...

Frunk: Boot drier? Other interesting Frunk tools?

Had an idea kicking around my head, and curious what others think. The Frunk is a great feature, and it seems most people are very excited about how it should be present in both the BEV, and Harvester versions. I was thinking the other day about other things that I think could be useful for...

    Brake pedal behavior: Preference?

I did a brief search, but apologies if this has already been covered somewhere else/sometime in the past. For those coming from the 100% combustion engine side of things, you might be surprised to know that the behavior of the brake pedal of a battery electric vehicle, or EREV (the harvester...

    Scout Traveler/Terra RC Rock Crawler?

This is a bit more lighthearted. But the thought occurred to me, and gave me enough of a giggle that I had to suggest it. I've got two children, and have more than a bit of kid left in me (ask my wife). A dumb/fun idea, would be to offer a Scout Traveler/Terra RC Crawler body. For those that...

Traveler liftgate "lock at height" feature

Like many others, I often use my SUV as a "pseudo truck". This often means that I'm tying the rear liftgate down with bank line as because while the <couch/kitchen table/yard furniture/whatever> technically/sort of fits, but the liftgate doesn't close because the <couch/kitchen table/yard...
