  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

    Competitive Warranty

I think that a good warranty is a must for scout motors. Here are some warranties from competitors: F150 Lightning: 3 yr/36,000 miles basic 5 yr/60,000 miles powertrain 8 yr/100,000 miles battery Hummer EV: 3 yr/36,000 miles basic 5 yr/60,0000 miles powertrain Rivian: 5 yr/60,000 miles basic 8...

    ICE Box

Just posted this to Harris005's frunk focus forum, but had to create it's own as I was interested in what people thought and I was proud of this idea! Put the spare tire in the Frunk (Per J Alynn's recommendation, even have it slide out with a drop-down grill, per his original post). But also...

    Factory Upgrades

Okay I am wondering what people would add to their scout from the factory. Assuming they do not do trim levels and you can just add whatever you want. Obviously I do not know pricing, but I will show pricing ranges as follows: $ = 0-$500 $$ = $500-$1000 $$$ = $1000-$1500 $$$$ = $1500-$2000...

    Proportions/Wheelbase

It is hard to tell how big it may be or how small based on the teasers that have been released. Four things I think are important to consider when looking at the size and scale: 1: Wheelbase - the original Scouts (and new 2-door broncos) had 100" , the original Scout Travelers (and new 4-door...

    Publication Renders

It looks like some publications (car and driver, motor1, etc.) have been doing their own renderings based on the side profile released by Scout Motors. I like some things about them, and I do not like others. I was just checking in on everyone's opinion. Obviously these are not official SM...

    Bed Area

I was just looking through the suggestions and did not see anything for the bed area behind the rear seat for the scout. I have a buddy who has a new bronco and I was talking with him this weekend about the forum, and how I saw Harris005 had started the debate on a drop-down tailgate or a...

    American Made

Back when the news was first announced that VW would be producing a new scout I was uninterested because it was not going to be an IH product. A bit about me: I have owned a 79 scout II, which my dad and I restored in high school. My dad has owned 9+ scouts since I have been alive (I am 25). I...

    Trim Levels

I think it is imperative to discuss trim levels for the new scout. As I read through this forum I see three kinds of people (mostly). - The person who will never take this off-road, but appreciates the heritage of the vehicle and the idea of saving the environment with an EV - The person who...
