  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

I'm glad SM didn't have a Superbowl ad...

I saw during the game that it costs $8 million for 30 seconds. I'd much rather SM put that dough into the vehicle. Period. As a matter of fact, how's this for a commercial? Black fades to Scott's office, and he comes in frame and sits down. "We at Scout thought about buying a slot to...

New car - Lotti the Avant

Howdy all. So some know my background, others may not. But every man I know has the dream vehicle. Or vehicles usually. For years mine was a '70 Challenger in Plum Purple. But for the last 7 or so, I've been obsessed with two: 2012 Audi A4 Avant Quattro 1976 IH Scout Traveler Well several...

Not Scout Related - Who's excited for Starfield?!

I am. I am one of those who've thanked the stars they bought a Series X for Hogwarts, as it's paying off greatly now. I got the premium upgrade from Gamestop for the patch, and am going straight from work tomorrow to pick up my receipt, then home to hit the stars. Am I the only one excited...

My wife might kill me... '76 Traveler

This has been on the market for a while... it's even a '76, my favorite grill. Over these past years this rig has become my dream rig. It's overtaken the '70 Challenger convertible restomod that I've adored for years. I don't really care about powertrain, though it'd be nice if it could get...

    ELI5(Explain like I'm 5): Electricity

I get confused when it comes to all the terms involving electricity. Examples: Watt - This is how much a device uses? Amps - This is how much force is behind the Volts coming from a source? Volts - This is how much power is coming out of something? Amp hours? I try looking it up and I get...

Hummer EV Breaks - This CANNOT Happen to the Scout

While I don't generally like TFL(I won't go into why unless asked), this video came up. This needs to be on Scout Motors' radar, because this is the ultimate cautionary tale. THIS will not only turn people off of EVs, but this ABSOLUTELY will sour people from EVER buying a GM EV. People are...

    Model Names

I know we've discussed in other threads about models and how we'd like them named, but I thought of something today and wanted to not only get my fellow Scouters' opinions on it, but make sure our fellows on the payroll and making decisions see it as well. Names are everything. This is obvious...

    Navigation and Co-Pilots

Onx supposedly has integration with Jeep's infotainment, but it leaves LOTS to be desired. Polaris has it's RIDE COMMAND system/app. Either build a system in-house or partner with someone like Alltrails or Google to feature fully integrated offroad navigation, tracking, picture taking, etc. as...

    Marketing Idea

Zac Brown has featured Scouts in several music videos, the most well known being Chicken Fried. Get with them and see about them writing a song, and being part of the movement.

    Idea: Cradle to Delivery

Supposedly Ford was going to do this, and I'd love to hear from Bronco owners if it happened or not, but I know that Corvette owners can get pictures along the way of their Vette being built and what not. If possible, this would be AMAZING for the Scout. Like once I place my order, I get...

    Plug Type

J1772 type please. People are already using this and investing in this type of Level 2 charger. Please don't try to reinvent the wheel or be special. Sometimes mainstream is that way for a reason. Mahalo.

    Battery Range Solution

As I looked at converting a Traveler to EV several months ago, the thought hit me: the biggest concern with EVs is the range right? Range range range. Well, it got me thinking about how to alleviate this, which we've all done I'm sure, but easily replaceable batteries is the obvious one. When...

    Community and Events Ideas

So I for one am embracing this new Scout, even as others(namely on Binder Planet), denounce it. That said, someone else mentioned that the Scout could dethrone the Wrangler and take the Bronco to task, and I have to agree. While I'm hoping for a full-hybrid option, there are some things that...

    Powertrain Wants

I'll keep it short. The new Scout should be EV. I caught serious flak from the old guys on binderplanet.com several months back for announcing I'd like, as a dream vehicle, a Scout Traveler converted to EV. Since then, I've realized that pure EV may not be the best. With this in mind, and a...
