  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

    Improve the Heritage message

Several articles I have read while generally glowing, include the statement “VW bought the Scout name” in some form. This is one of the common claims made by never-EV hater crowd. SM should put out a promo video explaining/ emphasizing the history from McCormick Harvesting Company to the merger...

    Harvester modes

I don't know how the Harvester option will be implemented but these are some modes I'd like to see that I'm familiar with from my current EREV*. I have a 2014 Cadillac ELR (fancy Chevy Volt) that I've owned since new. It has 4 basic modes of operation: Tour, Sport, Mountain, and Hold. Tour -...

    Pop open rearmost window

The far back window on the Traveler should be one of these on each side. These improve interior airflow/comfort when you have the windows/Cabana top open just like these @chucchinchilla has on this sweet microbus. I would prefer manual latches but they can be powered.

    Dimensions

Is it really this huge? For reference, a Bronco Raptor is 191" long, 77.8" tall and 85.7" wide and that is a wide f'n truck. A RAPTOR!

I want this glass in the new Scout

Especially the windshield- Stronger, lighter and optically superior to gorilla glass https://www.motortrend.com/reviews/corning-fusion5-glass-is-stronger-lighter-and-good-for-electric-and-autonomous-cars/?lid=y10gp367rka6&eml=organic%3Aeml%3Abrz2&utm_source=braze&utm_medium=emaileditorial

Create a pickup section of the Forum

My interest is only in the Scout SUV and it seems that most (not all) on this site are also solely or mainly interested in the SUV as opposed to the upcoming SM pickup. No doubt because the "Scout" was the IH SUV and holds most of the nostalgia. To me a pickup is a pickup but you are going to...

    Range Reality Check

The Rivian R1S and R1T both lose a big chunk of range...

    Double sunvisors

I had this on my 2003 SAAB and have missed it on every car since. The first/main sunvisor is normal; it folds down and forward to block sun on the windshield and rotates to the side window to block sun there if necessary. It also slides so it can adjust to where the sun is on the side window...

Gulf Coast (TX) Binders Spring Bash 21 Apr-23 Apr, 2023

The below is directly from the Gulf Coast Binders Facebook page. It will be at Hidden Falls Adventure Park in Marble Falls, TX. I'm sure there will also be many attendees from the Hill Country Binders Facebook group as well. I'll be there at least 1 day if I can get my Scout back from the...

    2026 Patriot Edition

If Scout can get to market for the 2026 model year you MUST have a Patriot/Spirit edition to celebrate the 250th anniversary of our independence. Red white and blue all the way! Build that and take my money now. If you miss it you’ll have to wait another 50 years.
