  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    Factory Solar Tint Option

So hear me out... Solar tint is a pretty common "first mod" for people that live in hotter climates. It would be awesome if we could have solar treatment on the windows/sunroof glass as a factory option. The local glass shops usually charge $150-$200 for the windshield. I would gladly pay...

Make it easy to precool your Scout and create routines (Mobile Integration)

I would love to have a button front and center on the Scout app to precool or prewarm your Scout on hot summer days, and cold winter mornings. To save battery it could be limited to 10 minutes, but still useful in preconditioning your vehicle before jumping in. If it could be integrated with...

Loading Mode (Air Suspension Feature Request)

Load Mode I have mentioned wanting this feature in other threads but hadn't seen how some manufacturers implement it up in a convenient way until now. Was watching the Sarah-N-Tuned review of the 2025 Nissan Armada Pro4X this morning and it has buttons in the rear cargo area to drop and raise...

Should there eventually be a "Work Truck Package" ?

Typically new car manufacturers produce higher end models first to gain more initial cashflow from models with higher margins. Eventually to be a high volume seller, do you think Scout should offer a Work Truck Package that comes in underneath their base model? They usually have less refined...

    Vehicle Visualizer/Configurator Tool

We created a poll recently and there seems to be a lot of interest in a Visualizer Tool to play with various features, options, colors, materials, etc. https://community.scoutmotors.com/threads/poll-would-you-use-a-scout-configurator-tool-if-pricing-and-details-are-not-finalized-yet.2570/ It...

What tires would you like to see on your new Scouts?

Poll: Would you use a Scout configurator tool if pricing and details are not finalized yet?

When I am bored I play with Builder/Configurator tools on websites like Ford, Chevy, and Rivian. In order to keep the hype and interest going, it would be awesome to be able to play around with it and experiment with different builds. Slate has a pretty fun one on their website and they still...

The Garage (What did you work on today?)

The Garage is a place for sharing projects, mods, and DIY ideas of all kinds. Share your life hacks and wisdom. Keep us updated on your projects. Blow off some steam and grab a beer. It will obviously be a while before we are scurrying around our garages and playing with our new Scouts...

Real world EREV/PHEV Towing, Offroad, and Range Testing

I came across a pretty interesting Australian YouTube channel. This guy purchased a BYD Shark (EREV pickup) and shares his experience driving it across the Australian Outback. I think it is a pretty interesting perspective of what living with an EREV full time could look like. Edit: Added...

    Offroad Feature Request: Front Dig

One of the coolest features of double transfer case setups found in more rock crawling focused vehicles is the ability to engage the front differential and disengage the rear axle. The use case is when you are climbing a shelf or ledge and start shifting off to the side, or need to "pull"...

Rear Cargo Barrier for pets and gear

I would be awesome if Scout offered a Cargo barrier/pet divider option for both keeping you safe in an accident and keeping your pets where they need to be. The aftermarket is going to take a while to start offering accessories for a new vehicle from a "new" company and I can definitely see a...

What government and private sectors could you see Scout being successful in commercially? (Police, military, S&R, Delivery, etc)

Just a fun discussion prompt. Once Scout takes off and ramps up production capacity they could start eyeing larger commercial contracts. As an American company they could compete in some government and private sectors for fleet deals. What are some areas you could see the Scouts being...

    Spare Parts Availability At Launch

I have read many stories about people buying newly launched vehicles and getting to accidents and waiting months for repairs. It can take a while for parts availability to catch up but some things could result in shiny new vehicles being completely immobile aside from accidents. Since Scout is...

Do you think we will see a Travelette (Long Bed Heavy Duty)?

Scout used to make a heavy duty long bed pickup called the Travelette. Do you think there is a place for a heavy duty truck in their future lineup alongside the Terra? Maybe some beefier axles like the electric Dana 60 and a high output Harvester Generator would do the trick for those wanting...

Scout merch should also include camping chairs, blankets, umbrellas etc. Lifestyle stuff beyond clothing.

Some folks here suggested a Scout branded plaid (tartan) blanket when we were discussing overland gear. It’s a pretty brilliant idea. If it could be made of hemp or a resilient fiber that doesn’t get funky after it’s wet that would be even cooler. They could be offered in the various...

    Gear ratios

Lets have a discussion about gear ratios. I come from the rock crawling/overland world. Gearing is a make or break for slow speed control, as well as efficiency. I had a 100 Series Land Cruiser that I could get up just about anything I pointed it at. When I installed 35"s I wanted as...

Someone call an ambulance. (I just asked Chapt GPT to roast the Scout Traveler)

I said it will have a Harvester gasoline Generator option available and it gave me two more roasts in response. I am dying yall 🤣

Will Scout Work With Future 3rd Party Battery Retrofit/Replacement Companies? (Right to Repair)

Thinking well into the future here, but 10 years from now as EV packs endure the hot summer months and cold winters, deep states of discharge, or worked hard by towing and begin to show their age, will we be stuck with Scout battery replacement packs? Will that even be an option? I would hate...

    Walkabout Mode (Safety Feature)

I brought this up in another thread, but think it would be a life saver and worth Scout Motors attention. Base Camp Mode, Walkabout Mode, Check Ins, IDK about the name but it's a working title. The idea is essentially a software deadman switch to help keep people alive. If you are camping...
