  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

Good stuff, really excited to see the final product. I noticed there's a button to turn creep on and off so that should satisfy people who prefer it behave more like a traditional auto vs those who prefer the usual EV hold when stopped. Interested if the braking option that was turned off is to...

We own EVs. Ask Us Anything.

That’s why I hate advertisements by monthly payment. You can get a new Ferrari for $500 a month if you put $250k down.

    Default volume setting?

This is a good idea, hopefully it could be something that could be customized individually for a specific volume option (as well as an option as to whether you want this feature turned on or not).

What one thing would you like to see changed from concept to production?

Yeah that’s always the balance. Front charging ports make way more sense for towing, but if you never tow then it’s nice to have a rear so you can back into the space. Whenever they start doing them like gas pumps everywhere where you can just pull alongside it will no longer be an issue.

We own EVs. Ask Us Anything.

That seems like a pretty good idea to me. If you get a Standard Range, I'd avoid the 2021 model year(pre LFP) as I've heard of a few failures for that year. 2022 models will have the updated processing chip and will have a heat pump so I would try and stretch for one of those if you can. If you...

    Scout! Hear me out!

This is where the Harvester should be good for people like this. That still has 500 miles range. Even if we say it's lower at 420 miles doing 70 mph then that's still 6 hours of driving without stopping. Since we don't fully know how just topping the gas up will work, even if we say you only get...

    Factory Solar Tint Option

I would most likely use this as well, as long as we could pick the tint percentage. Also, I'm not sure what the implications would be (if any) for Scout, if someone requested a tint that was below the legal limits of their state.

Poll- What have you Reserved... Let's get a small idea of the take rates.

I have faith they will also come in close to the $60k they said (without incentives) unless major changes economically happen in the next couple of years. I'm not expecting the $60k version to look like the interior concepts though, nor have the 35" wheels etc.

We own EVs. Ask Us Anything.

No issues, there is a Tesla Supercharger on both sides of the Somerset service station that are v3 (there's also a v2 supercharger off the actual Somerset exit as well but that wouldn't be compatible with non Tesla EVs). There is also an EA station off the Bradford exit as well. That's sometimes...

We own EVs. Ask Us Anything.

I have a NEMA 14-50 and 5-15 chargers from Tesla. They are mostly for backup, but when we used to drive to my wife's grandma's house, and now to her friends back in Pittsburgh (just over 200 miles from us), I use the 5-15 to get a little bit of charge over the weekend. I've done the same when...

I agree, even the original tires on my Tesla lasted 42,000 miles and I definitely enjoyed the quick acceleration when I first got it (and still do). I always have it in sport mode as well. I'm sure if I'd driven a little more 'normally' I could have got 50-60,000 out of the first set.

Do You Want Your Scout To Have A Hands-Free Driving System?

I'm not sure if they will plan on a physical switch or not but I assume they will have easy ways to disable it. Even on my Telsa which is known for FSD, I can can toggle to turn Autopilot on/off, and even if I have it turned on I still have to double press the stalk to actually activate it. I...

Thoughts on Long-Term Charging Plans for Overlanding and Rural Travel?

Agreed, at that point if you can't do it in a Scout with Harvester then you'll probably not be able to do it with any other regular gas car either. The other question along with how far off grid are you going is how long are you going for? If it's only a weekend or long weekend then it shouldn't...

    Charging while driving…Wild, irresponsible speculation...

We still go to the one over in Dillsburg, I think that's the only one in the local area. If they added level 2 charging there it would be even better. Was great in my Tesla last time we went as we were sitting out on our chairs and a storm rolled in so we could just sit in the car with the ac on...

    Blindspot Mirrors in Sideview Mirrors!

I think I’d probably get used to it eventually, I just see both angles at the same time and it just feels weird and difficult to figure out distances and where everything actually is. Probably just because I’m not used to it at all.

What kind of tech do you expect enabled in the car or interface?

I actually prefer having it only change lanes when I use the turn signal. Sometimes I’ve had it where mine changes lane for no reason and then doesn’t get back over so I have to do it myself. Maybe there can be an option for both if Scout has that level of automation to begin with.

    Blindspot Mirrors in Sideview Mirrors!

As long as they are optional. My father in law has this setup on his truck and when I borrowed it I actually found it distracting from just having the normal type of mirror. I can usually get a pretty good setup to not need something like this. Perhaps different if towing but if you have the...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

It does, and hopefully Scout (and others) can do similar in the future. Whenever a gen 2 Scout comes out it would be nice to be able to update our original ones if we want to. That way earlier adopters aren't left behind as certain technology improves over time.

    Tax credit removal

I hate stuff like that, I've used a configurator before where there was one additional thing I would have wanted but I could only get it in a package that cost over $6,000. Another thing on a similar topic, I also really hate when I pick an exterior color that I like and then when I go to pick...

    Tax credit removal

I was expecting it would get removed anyways. The only thing I'm weary of is if another administration comes in and introduces them again after I've purchased (this happened when I bought my Tesla in 2022) which would be very annoying. It currently says $50,000 with incentives for Traveler and...
