  • From all of us at Scout Motors, welcome to the Scout Community! We created this community to provide Scout vehicle owners, enthusiasts, and curiosity seekers with a place to engage in discussion, suggestions, stories, and connections. Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

So, welcome to the Scout Community! We encourage you to check back regularly as we plan to engage our members, share teasers, and participate in discussions. The world needs Scouts™. Let's get going.

    We are Scout Motors.

Poll: Would you use a Scout configurator tool if pricing and details are not finalized yet?

Reminds me of the survey some R2 reservation holders were sent a year ago where they got to choose what configurations they really liked....which of course gave Rivian some valuable information on customer preferences. That was a little more basic though and focused specifically on motor count...

    Extra, Extra....Read All About It!

Ehh I wouldn't be too concerned. Think of the millions of charges that happen every day without incident. Doesn't mean failure rate is 0%, but does mean the odds are exceedingly low kind of like dying in a plane crash. Doesn't mean people don't die in plane crashes because they do, but does mean...

Rivian R1s Dual has 533 horsepower and a 0-60 of 4.5 seconds. Just to put this in perspective, that's the same 0-60 time as a 1990 Lamborghini Diablo....in a family car.

From Reddit: R2 spotted in the wild likely somewhere near the Palo Alto R&D facility.

Most Iconic Location(s) for Scout Ads

Being in California I've basically got a coast to coast drive which means we'd somehow have to touch the Atlantic first before heading west on I-40 until we touch the Pacific. Hopefully it has decent range well into the 300's+ and a good charge curve because I just checked ABRP using a Rivian...

Scout: This will be the sixth time we have recruited laid off Rivian employees and we have become exceedingly efficient at it.

Most Iconic Location(s) for Scout Ads

Scout Road Trip Some of our greatest assets in this country are our National Parks and you can't get more American and Scoutsy than taking your vehicle and visiting them. IMO an ad campaign focused around visiting these parks would be a no brainer. It's on brand, it'll look stunning, and it's...

At launch Slate confidently said they weren't going to rely on the tax credits then immediately pulled a Tesla by advertising their price inclusive of the tax credits to hit that $20K number. Hypocritical and foolish since that was March when everyone knew Trump was going to eventually pull the...

Interesting bit of research concerning the future of ICE infrastructure...

I bet if you pulled this map for horse to automobile adoption, it would look very similar. I've actually seen this pattern play out in the tech world when we started migrating customers from on-prem equipment to cloud about 10 years ago. Nothing right or wrong about it, just how this country...

Real world EREV/PHEV Towing, Offroad, and Range Testing

I reserved a Traveler BEV but later added the Harvester. Looking at the res now, it's still the same number I had from before the change so I don't think it makes a difference if you change. @Jamie@ScoutMotors can you confirm we don't lose our place in line if we switch between BEV and...

What will you typical cargo look like in your Scout?

Common: Kids, gear for kids, camping gear, ski trip gear, biking gear, Costco runs Less common: Towing U-Haul trailers with big bulky stuff for home projects or one of our classic cars

    Where's everyone from? Part 1

Just got back from Denver/Boulder Colorado and I was surprised at the lack of Rivians. Maybe it was luck of the draw, but I was expecting the place to be crawling with them but only saw like 2.

No offense to Scout, but I think some of those states will have 0 votes for quite some time.

    Will Scouts be Plug&Charge Compatible

Our ID.4 has Plug&Charge....well it did until some recent software update screwed it up but that's another story....so if that car has it I have no doubt Scout will have it.

Scout Traveler SUV Green Off-Road Concept

Me: Hey Scout, you should really do a sage green color! Make it look something like what's on the 1960 Aston Martin DB4 GT Zagato. Also here's a GenAi image of what I'm talking about! @Jamie@ScoutMotors: You all have been asking for more colors...this concept features a retro-inspired green...
