Supportive communities are sometimes hard to find, but we're determined to turn this into one.

    Additionally, Scout Motors wants to hear your feedback and speak directly to the rabid community of owners as unique as America. We'll use the Scout Community to deliver news and information on events and launch updates directly to the group. Although the start of production is anticipated in 2026, many new developments and milestones will occur in the interim. We plan to share them with you on this site and look for your feedback and suggestions.

    How will the Scout Community be run? Think of it this way: this place is your favorite local hangout. We want you to enjoy the atmosphere, talk to people who share similar interests, request and receive advice, and generally have an enjoyable time. The Scout Community should be a highlight of your day. We want you to tell stories, share photos, spread your knowledge, and tell us how Scout can deliver great products and experiences. Along the way, Scout Motors will share our journey to production with you.

    Scout is all about respect. We respect our heritage. We respect the land and outdoors. We respect each other. Every person should feel safe, included, and welcomed in the Scout Community. Being kind and courteous to the other forum members is non-negotiable. Friendly debates are welcomed and often produce great outcomes, but we don't want things to get too rowdy. Please take a moment to consider what you post, especially if you think it may insult others. We'll do our best to encourage friendly discourse and to keep the discussions flowing.

    I know we've discussed in other threads about models and how we'd like them named, but I thought of something today and wanted to not only get my fellow Scouters' opinions on it, but make sure our fellows on the payroll and making decisions see it as well. Names are everything. This is obvious...

    Yeah I've talked with them and they have ZERO interesting in any kind of sponsorship or any kind of discount. So their V8 kit starts at like $58k... whew that's a lot of money.

    I would assume though that the CCS1 charger, if hardwired at home, would have a converter to DC to facilitate Lvl 3 charging... is this incorrect?

    There's a company out of California with several EV conversion options: Electric GT Supposedly GM is coming out with their own e-crate system as well, which I'm super excited about converting a Traveler into EV.

    Correct, yeah I understood that. :) But it's not kinda a thought in my head, where I was wanting to get a hardwired Lvl 2 J1772 charger for the Jeep, now I might have to rethink that if the Scout is going to have the CCS1.

    I think you misunderstood. I have a Jeep Wrangler 4xe. So if I were to install a male CCS1 charger, it would not be able to charge my Jeep, as the bottom DC ports would interfere with it plugging in.

    So what does everyone think of the first new Scout designs...

    SUV should compete against the Wrangler, Bronco, 4-Runner. Truck should compete against the Tacoma, Ranger, Colorado. Ideally it'd be nice to see a Traveler/Terra that competes against the full-size market like the Tahoe/Excursion and F150/Silverado.

    Interesting. So the CCS1 has the addtional 2 ports for DC on the bottom, supporting L3 charging. The only issue with this is those who have a J1772 only, like me, wouldn't be able to use the CCS1 charger on my J1772 rig. Kinda a pain.

    PSST - he wants a Scout II... D44s front and rear, front disks(both '74 and later), plenty of room for the family still. Preferably with a like 3' lift and 33s. EDIT: I was saying that in sarcasm. I have no idea what he'd like.
